Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

Because we always try to be as thorough as possible, we decided to show you a bit more gameplay footage from Battlefield 3. The PS3 video will give you a sneak peel at the first chapters of the sigle player campaign. As for our PC videos, here is a chance to see Miguel in multiplayer action in 1080p and 60 fps. Enjoy!

I really wish the singleplayer was longer, because it was great fun. Left many unanswered questions however, and that really frustrated me. Oh well, the multiplayer is so damn addicting that I am sort of glad I played singleplayer first or I would probably have never touched it.

pc-images look incredible, though in motion the game is visually even far more stunning... attention to detail easily beats everything on both consoles, time for next gen of consoles imo, the gap has become really really huge

What are the system specs and what settinga did you use?

Core i5 750 (4 cores) 3.4 GHz (OC), one OC Gainward GTX 570 (GLH version), 8 Go RAM. All settings on Ultra except for Deferred AA (OFF).

Did you try your Deferred AA @ 2x instead of 4? Its nice to have (gives it a more realistic look than not having it). I get some screen tearing with 4x, but 2x is good, an I only have a GTX 470...

And there is no way I can play with v-sync OFF. ^^

Are you sure you have HBAO ON and not SSAO? Because HBAO is very "demanding".

I turned SSAO and HBAO off.. and why the hell doesn't triple buffer + v-sync work via the control panel anymore?

I didn't think you did :D I just wish it worked.. it added a smoothness to the beta that I haven't been able to replicate.

AA deferred= 2x MSAA
AA post= high
Motion blur on
Anisotropic filter 16x
AO= HBAO
Vsync off, but I don't get tearing unless I have it on 4xMSAA

Core i7 870 variable clock speed from 2.93 to 4.0 GHz
16GB RAM
GTX 470

I'm really tempted to get FRAPs just to see my exact fps, but it's super smooth and doesn't FRAPS affect perfomance?

Ok but in 1920*1080 it's a different story. ^^

Fraps should not affect performance if you don't use it to capture some video footage.

That's good to know. My monitor won't go 1080 (900 is it's max, lol), but that said, 900 looks phenomenal, and In the past I would sacrifice a little resolution (Crysis when it first came out, played at 720 on high everything) for a full featured spec. I'm still running it well over 720, so that's great by me.

I really wished the Single player was more free to roam instead of feeling claustrophobic, and that they had allowed greater freedom with vehicles but I guess these days and despite the kudos that they actually made a SP disc for Xbox 360 (finally) SP gaming is getting the shaft in favor of MP modes...

Well anyways the MP is very impressive, extremely... and thats on consoles btw I'm sure on PC its super nice too great job DICE.
