Xbox 360 PS2

In an effort to prove us MotoGP 2006 doesn't lack of cojones, the guys of THQ sent us two comparison images, composed of ingame screenshots and real pictures. Needless to say, the result is impressive. And talking about eye-candies, don't forget to pick their new 3D screenshot, much nicer than the first one.

2 comparison shots

Hard to tell which ones are real and which are ingame. I think the ones on the left are real. Am I right?

Woho the second picture is amazing almost no difference between the real one and the one from the game. First one is looking a bitt less realistic.

The second image is pretty impressive. The first, not so much. As long as designers continue to cut corners by using flat textures instead of building real geometry things will always look less than real.

That said. MotoGP is the only racing game that I actually enjoy playing. I'll definately be getting this one at release.

That's great but i will be on the bikes not watching the buildings. They better make the motorcycles more realistic.

Yeah. The only thing that gives it away for me is the lack of darkness/shadow underneath that big roof thingy. But otherwise it looks like something that came out of PGR3 for the level of detailed re-creation.

edit: oh wait, just realised there were lights..

There will be 20 of those beauties on the track aswell.

The trackside buildings will look a lot better in motion like the windows in PGR3 which have gorgeous shaders that move with the player.

Impressive stuff man I've never wanted to buy so many games before in my life. With xbox and ps2 i'd only go after the big names like metal gear, ninja gaiden, final fantasy, resident evil etc I wouldn't dare try something that didn't have a huge following unless it was a game that specifically sparked my interest (which wasn't many current gen titles), but now I find myself feeling like if I don't get this and that i'll be missing out.

Omg.... I can rotate it more developers need to start releasing things like this to the public I mean wow such impressive stuff.

The first one the bloom effect kinda gives it away, but the second picture its really hard to tell, almost no discernable difference that could give it away. Looking great, now all I need is Forza 2.

what about the horrible 'lights' the yellow circle in the roof of the second image,... that is way off and sticks out like a sore thumb,... but the rest is extremely impressive

You are going to call me crazy but I like being honest, those comparision shots don't impress me, at all. I remember seeing some Forza shots of comparable quality, yeah really. The 3D shot on the other hand looks next gen enough to me (for a first try), considering all the bikes on a race, etc etc.

Not to be insulting or anything, but you need to calm down. I hate to break it to you, but not every single XBox 360 game is going to be amazing. You need to lower your standards so you aren't dissapointed come the release of these games.

Being critical is not a crime you know.

This real to life stuff doesn't impress me much anymore.

It's pretty clear that this generation will be close to simulating real life settings, personally i am more interested in games like Resident Evil 5 and Blue Dragon and what they will deliever graphically.

you know, if it was as easy as just adding more to the models, then we'd have super realistic games by now. it's also actaully easier to create high poly models than efficient ones, and it's not really "cutting corners" to try and achieve the best within whatever limits(software\system\whatever).
anyway, those high quality textures sure can almost make up for it! like with pgr3..nice, nice textures.

anyway, can't wait for this game! motogp is fun!
