MX vs ATV Alive may not be the most highly-anticipated title coming out in May, but since we got a copy of the game with THQ, we gave it a try. Not everything is perfect, far from it, and there are clearly flaws in the way it is designed (no careeer mode, no single player championship, few tracks - especially when you start the game and have to wait a few hours to unlock new ones). However, the gameplay turns out to be pretty interesting and the graphics are more than ok for a $40 title. Add to that the local and online multiplayer features, and you have a pretty decent title in the end. It is even probably the best choice in the genre, mainly because it is a lot more realistic than the likes of Pure and Nail'd. We have prepared a big bunch of videos so you can see what to expect, so enjoy!

I wonder if the weather dynamically affects the track.
They really needed to work on the player to player collision, as it would be way to easy to get knocked off when you're on a bike or quad in the last game.
Oh, and the wacky performance on the PC version...
I might pick this up; it's a good price :)

too bad about the SP campaign :( That's another drawback from the past titles that, it looks like, they don't much care about.
I've always managed to have fun with the games though, so no biggie.
They haven't fixed the stiff animations and the collision system. Yes you don't fall in mid-air like last time but you still have that annoying sudden change of direction when you hit something while turning. The gameplay is still buggy as hell. Check out the dev playing a race and see the collisions in mid-air.
Also, the graphics have little improvement. That dune video in freeride looks pretty cool, but the motocross tracks look like the old game.
