Trailer PS4 Xbox One

After a single image a few days ago, here is finally the first trailer of the next-gen version of NBA 2K14, and it certainly doesn't look bad. Quite the surprising choice for the music, but I personally approve :)

Live is going to have to crawl back into it's hole again.

Apparently there is a "next-gen" 5v5 match taken from NBA Live scheduled to air tomorrow?

If this 2K14 trailer is anything to go by, I would guess the basket-ball fanatics have already made their decision; NBA 2k14 has the graphics and the game play to boot.

Holy shit, finally a game that really looks like a major upgrade. The cloth physics and model animations are excellent. The skin and sweat are also very impressive. The gameplay has been awesome for a long time, looks like the graphics are just as stellar.

This is easily one of my most anticipated titles as I'm a huge basketball fan.

Go bulls!!!!!!!!!

Is it wrong that i want this purely because it looks so damn good? I have zero interest in the sport or the games...but man those graphics.

As with most currently announced next gen games, this one is suffering a bit from it's current gen shackles. Some of the players still have those dead eyes that don't look like they're focusing on anything. And the transitions of some of the facial animations needs some work. Note at 1:15 Lebron's mouth snapping open and shut like those old fishing toys with the little fish with magnets in their mouths. But the body animations look solid, as always from the 2k series, and textures look a bit improved. The cloth physics are a nice idea but again are tacked on to a pre existing current gen engine so clipping is evident at the end of the trailer. It all looks very promising however. I can't wait for them to do one from the ground up for next gen.

This post is the equivalent of noticing a stunning looking woman with a perfect body walking down the street. All your mates are in awe of her, with their jaws open and on the floor, yet you are the only one to be noticing that she has freckles or split ends in her hair or some shit like that and commenting on how unattractive that looks.

Anyway, if 2k ever get round to making a decent football sim, EA and Konami are up shit creek.

Hey don't get mad at me for being observant and the least bit discerning. The better these games get graphics-wise, the more the little things are going to stand out. And since when is it a bad thing to call out flaws in a product? That just-good-enough mentality is the reason there are so many shitty products out there today. Not saying that this looks shitty but it's most definitely got it's flaws. We are a far ways away from any game like this being perfect and if we ever want to get to that "perfect" point, it would behoove us to complain as much as reasonably possible to keep these devs on their toes.

"Perfect" will never happen no matter how much you bitch and moan about everything that's wrong with a game. YOU my friend are chasing a ghost. Happy hunting

Btw, can you please post a picture of yourself? I would love to pick you apart and tell you everything that's wrong with your mug and maybe one day parents will start producing perfect kids with the information I give them.

First of all, personal attacks really aren't necessary. I was simply stating my observations. Why you had to take what I said as some kind of insult I do not know, but I digress. As for the contents of my comment, it seems that you do not understand the grammatical use of quotation marks. They are used to denote, more or less, that something is meant to be taken in a manner of speaking, which is to say that I know that "perfect" isn't possible. That's why I put the word in quotes. I meant getting as close to perfect as humanly possible. And guess what? These are PRODUCTS. Products that people make. There is nothing wrong with being critical. What I think IS wrong is just accepting whatever is thrown at you.

Sports games, fighting should really reach their peak next gen. Even racing games for that matter. Basketball I have no interest but I am looking forward to top spin 5.

Cloth physics, sweats, etc... Weren't they all present from 2K6? It looks almost as good as this one. Sure 2K14 is more refined, but...

Yes, they are products that people make. And do you really seriously believe that the people that make these products do not notice these so called flaws, which are all outstanding to you, and try to correct them? Do you not think they are not aware of the limitations of what they are working with? Perhaps you should forward your solutions to them so they can produce your ideal product. It's your lack of understanding that grates as well as the extreme nitpicking. There is absolutely nothing wrong in just saying what everyone else obviously thinks, and that is the game looks fucking outstanding. Simple as that. No need to be extremely pedantic of things that are very, very difficult for 3d modelers and animators to correct. Clipping, one of your niggling complaints, will always be prevalent in games, especially when it comes to something like dynamic soft body meshes sat on top or near a rigid body mesh that is animated like the players and their kits. 3d software packages have solvers for this, but at a cost of a lot of CPU power. In a real time game, that's not practical.
