After keeping the lead this gen, 2k's famous basketball series is about to make its debut on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, as proven by this first PS4 image of the game. Needless to say that if thet game's animations have been improved as much as the visuals, it should look fantastic!

ah while I don't like sports games it looks ok, but im pretty disappointed in all the footage from watch dogs

it seems like the graphics are very dulled down since that E3 gameplay

There's a side by side comparison somewhere. It's crazy how bad Lebron looks this gen, compared to this pic.

I dunno.. I sorta agree. Yes, it clearly looks better, but this new generation is having a pretty dull impact.

It doesn't help that last-gen bullshots sometimes look better than the new generation. I guess we'll be getting plenty of bull this generation too.

Completely agree with Xoar. This is nowhere near the advancement we had going from PS2 to PS3.

The jump from sd ps2 was way higher than the jump from 720 to 1080. Just slightly more clean and more common to see 60 fps seems to be the theme so far this next gen switch. Pretty dull impact so far I agree. Ps4 and x1 are not very impressive so far.

Maybe I'll have to get a PC after all, get out of the Stone Age ; )

Also, go bulls!!!! I really think if deng can bring his A game and if Noah and rose stay healthy they can go all the way. Should be a very fun season. Can't wait to get into another addictive season of my player.

Well it's never going to be on an aesthetics level seeing that the PS2 didn't have normal mapping. Normals alone made a huge impact on visuals. Although these next consoles will have SSS so that'll do for human characters what normals did for games overall, almost. It just brings it closer to realism that little bit more. Anyway, next gen is more about how games actually move and react than just how they look. If only more people understood that, there wouldn't be these petty squables over hardware specs.

Think I may be the only person who think this is a massive jump from PS3 to PS4, I'll be very pleased with Next Gen if this is the start graphics. Hopefully clothing physics are improved also

I wouldn't say it's massive at all. Devs, so far, are probably still using the same pipeline for their current gen on next gen, and that probably won't change for a few years yet. In certain areas only there are big jumps, but they aren't obvious from screenshots.

Lets put it this way. if I'd sat in the crowed and manage to get an photo that sharp I'd be very happy. Having said that it's a bit of a bull shot. Original is way to high res for an in game shot, Hence the scaled shot looks to have a lot better FSAA than the console would actual give. Impressive textures though. In motion with DX11 lighting and tessellation is where both the PS4 and Xbox one will shine over the current gen consoles.

Sports games are already pretty good looking. MLB the show is 1080P native. Even fighting games with only 2 characters on screen should be done really really good but the upgrade may not be huge as some other genre. 1080P though is must and probably 60fps too if the jump is not huge.

Maybe b/c the game was always intended for lesser consoles? A guess, I don't know. Would hope PC benefits from "nextgen" more than anyone.

I don't think the jumps are ever really going to be as in the past. at least not on first glance. The current generation was the start of using the more advanced shaders. It is going to be more a refinement issue. They already had some pretty lifelike graphics this gen.

The real difference will be physics, cloth, particles, objects on-screen, and better post effects. Obviously the shaders will be better and the edges will be smoother(higher poly-counts), but it's not like we are going from mitten hands to individual fingers.

It also doesn't help that the PC has been doing the frog-boil act for years too...
