Not sure if anyone will be able to play this game at 4K with a decent frame rate. Maybe if you have 2 Titan Z cards Ha ha!!
In a generation where resolution is apparently all that fucking matters, a many great people sure have no idea what the fuck increased resolution does.
Clearer, cleaner, and more crisp, less aliasing. It doesnt add graphical effects. In fact, running a game at this high of resolution often times will make glitches and errors in design, texturing, and modelling much more apparent--we went through this at the beginning of last generation with 720p. Increased res should be paired with visuals that actually require said resolution in order to look the way its supposed to.
If anyone thinks you'll be seeing individual threads, facial hairs, and scratches in armor on a 1080p monitor at 6-7ft away you're wrong. At this point in gaming, thats about all 4k (plus aliasing improvements) will offer.
These new generation of cards cannot come fast enough...
To me, crisp graphics is not always better. For example, I think The Order 1886 graphics looks awesome, and they are not crisp at all thanks to a subtle blur and antialiasing. That gives the game a very cinematic vibe that I love, though.

I say enjoy your 1080p - 2k gaming and appreciate it because you are going to be dealing with it for quite some time longer. Even wealthy people running Titans in SLI and gaming at 4K isn't really seeing the benefit of 4K other than higher pixel density, which simply shows even more clearly how muddy and low res assets are in reality. 4K is a huge resolution jump, but textures and geometry detail has not been a huge jump so far to match it and take advantage of it.
Or maybe not. I could see it taking 1-2 years. And I'm also interested in performance beyond 60hz.

But yes, I agree, the Witcher 3 shots above are underwhelming :)
I don't need 4k. TV manages to never look fake with 720p and 1080p. I need better lighting filters, shaders, and textures as well as higher polygon counts. Fully destructible environments would be nice as well. I would prefer for the games to look realistic first, then look realistic in crystal clear quality.
Problem is i just cannot sell either of my consoles due to really liking the exclusives on them be it Tomb Raider, Forza or Uncharted :(
