Haha liking these screenies, looks like they have kept some of the comedy from the first two even though it looks more gloomy.

Another new screen.

I won't be surprised if this was current gen game at first. Doesn't look good.

They should add more colors asap.

This looks pretty damn bad, and the frame rate at e3 was god awful. Also they really have no clue what they want first they show a serious game at e3 which looked nothing like Dead Rising and now they attempt to show us that it's still a fun look on zombie slaying, yeah right....

either my expectations for next gen are too high, or this looks pretty bad. looks like dead island visually.

if it runs smooth then people should be more then happy with it visually, what with it being a launch game thats open world, with hundreds of zombies on screen, with no loading etc

another case of hating just to hate

It's been confirmed that this was switched from Xbox 360 for an Xbox One launch title. Don't develop a complex.

That's the problem - the game runs like shit in current build and they have only few months until launch...

It's interesting to see the reaction of people that were expecting 60fps next gen open world games.

yeah they obviously just threw the more daft stuff in in the few short weeks since E3 right? It was always there - as that's dead rising. They spoke about how you could still be daft during E3.

And the games looks very impressive. I've never seen an open world as populated as what they showed.

That's great...except it has the worst framerate of all the games shown on the xbone...

It's also not a year away either. We'll see. Looking like THAT with THAT bad of a framerate is pretty disappointing though, even for a launch game.

The screens are horrible, but the gameplay looks much better in motion. Much like those shots of Infamous not long ago. Game looks great, IMO...

Ah, chromatic aberration: it's the new black. Or in computer games, it's the new lens flare.

Anyway, would love a hit of the same pipe some of you are smoking from. This actually looks technically very good for a large open world, and the detail on the zombie models is fairly impressive considering there will literally be hundreds, if not close to a thousand of them, on the screen at the same time. Yeah. I'd say it doesn't look too shabby considering that.

thing is it's not like it looks bad. We've all seen it in motion, I don't remember anybody saying "this doesn't look next-gen" when they showed it at E3 (probably because everybody assumed it was timed exclusive then - looking at you korn). And the last gameplay footage they showed a couple of days ago looked like a more steady framerate.

The framerate concerns during E3 demo were ofcourse justified though, as it performed pretty poorly. But we also know that that was on early build dev kits, probably months old, and performance is generally an on going tweak throughout a games development. So lets complain properly about that should it hit the shelves in the same state.. otherwise we're complaining about a work in progress..which is kinda pointless isn't it?

but TLOU got bunch of 10s just for its cutscenes, story and graphics which have nothing to do with gameplay so clearly gameplay doesnt matter

I bet he is not even touched TLoU and just trolling.

Speaking about gameplay i would rate this game well over many AAA titles.

If they stabilize the framerate that will be enough. But I thought we had uniformly agreed that games with this type of gritty hue shouldn't make the jump into next-gen. What's more jarring is that they're going to try to make the game as humorous as the previous games in this type of setting? I'm hoping that this is kind of the outer-world to whatever the interior environment is. That'd be cool.

I don't have an issue with the visual style or design of the zombies mixed with the humorous aspects. They won't be as jarring as you'd think. Even though it's a more creepy setting (I thought DR 1&2 got somewhat creepy at night) zombies really ceased to be scary for me the more mainstream they became and obviously the older I got. They still can have that creepy quality to them, though, but it's always fun and satisfying smashing them to bits regardless of the context of their setting. If you make them a very dangerous and menacing threat like in the first RE and TLOU, then that's when they become scary. In this, they are just cannon fodder play things.

As for the frame rate, hopefully that gets polished up a bit. I'd just put that down to not having final hardware specs locked down, probably. You always see that the very first next gen games anyway, so I'd expect this to be very smooth on launch.

i played it and paid for it unfortunately

such a shockingly average game that when i finished all i had in my head was "is this really it?". i would have stopped playing halfway through but i wanted to get my moneys worth and i was hoping for something interesting to happen (gameplay wise)

but thats neither here nor there, its offtopic :D
