Um wha? you hope they took out a feature that would actually bring something new to this most stagnant of franchises.... Gamers complain about there being little innovation in games these days, but when developers finally try and change something they moan and bitch before they have even played it... Its Gamers like this that are ruining innovation in this industry. not saying that this idea is the most innovating but hey at least it would be a change from the done to death normal Riiiiiiiiiidge Racer!

I would hardly call smashing through buildings as being innovation considering it's been done many times before.

To be fair, there are far less racers that alow it compared to those that dont. It'd be a fresh take on an old OLD played out franchise. Hell, it needs something...ANYTHING.

Well wow yeah, I agree therefore Halo should have more Call of Duty like gameplay instead of playing like tired, played out Halo... and there should be plenty of ammo and no tension in a Resident Evil game because after all the game is tired, its old....

Zomg Ford Mustangs should have a twin turbo engine built in Korea and BMWs should just have Chevy engines because those are just old tired... old... jeez Rappers should just learn to play a guitar and sing death metal instead of rapping and Metalica should just break out and rap in the middle of the song while wearing big gold rope chains... as a matter of fact Bill Gates should just hire Linux creator to build a new Windows OS not based on any previous version of windows because after all windows is tired and old.../sarcasm

Wow, that was an entirely too long and unnecessary rant. Pretty sure the point was made after the first... clause? Not quite a sentence, not quite a paragraph. I don't think anyone can deny that of all the racing franchises, Ridge Racer is the one that has had the least amount of change and evolution over the years. It's also been going downhill for a while, and could definitely use something fresh. Is it an entirely new concept? No, but it's a small thing added to the usual RR formula that, if it's done correctly, could probably save the series from being canned after a few sub-par titles.

I'm honestly shocked that this franchise didn't go under a long time ago...Can't imagine sales being all that great for these games when you have so many better racing titles to choose from!

Dont see how you could make such a claim without playing it? How do you know this isnt a great racer? And how can you say there are so many 'better' options out there?

Ridge Racer is the same old tried and tested formula, it doesn't sell well. Gets boring quick. It needs a make over like katie price needs another man.

I guess you're right to a certain degree, as there is not really many options in terms of new arcade racing games. Just that how can this even remotely compete to the likes of GT5 or Forza? Hell, even NFS: The Run is probably a better game than this. Ridge Racer games never had good car physics. I really don't see a need to play this either, I have seen every Ridge Racer that has come out since PS1 and have never enjoyed any of them. Odds are not in favor that this will be much different.
