I know this is a last gen game, but blimey, that's one ugly looking game. Terrible lighting and texture work.

*sob* You take that back! *sniffle* Dark Souls II is beautiful I tell ya *sob* I-I-It's...a beautiful game. *runs away* All joking aside, I was apart of it's beta, and it looked a hell of a lot better than these screenshots. In fact, it looked every bit as good as what's been shown in their trailers. These pics don't do the game justice.

When we talk about "Dark Souls" i think we talk about GAME-PLAY. it's not Crysis 3 or Battlefield 4.

Yeah, it's not a AAA title by any means. Still, i agree, it doesn't look stellar, but hopefully it will make up for that by far with the gameplay :)

Love the new take on hollowing too. Seems like a whole bunch of new neat features in this game.

Can't wait to downsample it from 4k to 1920x1080 :)
Aside from horrible textures i love design they choose. Feels like they try to make it even more 'real'.

As you should. This isn't a goddamn art gallery for pretentious impresionists. If the game play is good then it's a "5 Star", "Triple A", "Whatever-buzz-word-goes-here" game. End of story.

I think it looks great. Sure, it's technically lacking, but the art design is spot on and I'll take great art design over super high-res textures and billions of polys any day.

dark souls isn't about great environment textures, but more of lighting and shaders that you don't get that much on western rpgs. That never translates very well to screens. What i do like, is that its a step up on character npc animation and lip-synch. Every character on Demon and dark souls are almost a second tier npc character of any jrpg. so lifeless.

Wow. Actual cutscenes with moving lips and everything? We are seeing the future guys!

But seriously, I am freaking hyped for this. And yes, gameplay will always be most important in this series.
