Bethesda has shared these new screens of DOOM along the news announcing that this year's QuakeCon attendees will be able to go hands on with the title's pre-alpha multiplayer. Some players from the Wolfenstein Beta pool will also be selected in the following months for the alpha while the beta will hit next year.

I'm glad they stuck to the design decisions of the series and didn't get fluffy and over colorful, too. It would of really contradicted what the game calls for.
Also, didn't know this but the original cacodemon was a rip off from this

it's like not wanting the enviornment in a racer to look nice becasue you're racing past it at 150mph. It's just not the point. It's about accuracy, faithfullness to the source. They've gone out of their way to call this game "doom" it should at LEAST echo the design easthetics of the original doom. If its just a sequel to doom 3 they need to call it that and stop pretending it's a "return to form"

Just today I was going through Youtube for some of Doom's soundtrack. There's a lot of stuff in Doom that's just been directly, or indirectly, ripped off (or "borrowed") from other sources. Even the soundbites of the demons and environment are rehashes of stock Hollywood sound effects. It was a different time in game development for sure.
