Ikaruga was top-down, technically, but I get what you're saying.

I was looking at the art and thinking, "beautiful, too bad it looks like the game's all about killing you."

I'll still check it out, but not if it's all uber-hard bullet-hell-o-rama.

I think on normal difficulty will be doable for everyone. Here's one comparison video- normal vs insane

Ooo and thumbs up for developers and their dlc plans:
There are no DLC plans. This decision was left to the development team, and we approached it as players. As players, we’re not fond of the business model when connected to digital releases, to be honest. Small additions would not justify any price point, we would definitely feel guilty of ripping off our customers.

It's been interesting seeing offshoots of big studio developers going to make their own little studios, perfect strategy for the new economy.

I guess i'll just have to play shallow, easy, casual kinect games from this point on then....lol....fat chance.

tbh Modern shiny shooters are not much harder than them haha
Have played only Dance Central and Child of Eden and believe me, trying to get good ranks is really hard.
Not trying to defend kinect or something, just saying. :P

Looks nice. The hori shooter market has been dead for years, aside from the odd Darius game, so this will be a welcome return. How will stack up to the phenomenal tate shooters from CAVE remains to be seen.
