Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3

It was during the QuakeCon, mecca of first person shooters fundamentalists (its organizers prefer the more modest "Woodstock of gaming"), that Id Software has unveiled a brand new trailer of Rage. Not much peace & love in these two minutes of flying bullets and screaming wheels, in the heart of a post-apocalyptic but nevertheless vibrant Texas that evokes a Mad Max fan's wet dream come true. Even though the visual fidelity seems a bit down compared to last year's trailer, its content is much more relevant since it includes real gameplay clips. We like.

Very nice but ya, like Snoopers said the graphics are now believable at least for the PS360 versions. I know Carmack has some cutting edge software tech but that can only get you so far.Also, whether or not it plays like FO3, it sure does remind me a lot of it.

I really hope this game comes out soon because the wait is killin me.

Hopefully the PC version will still reach the same graphical heights of the older footage. But if the PS3/360 versions look as good as this I couldn't be happier.

woah there tiger, ID is a pc centric company that was almostly certainly a high end PC demonstration, dont get too excited just yet!
compare with cryengine 3 which was demoed on consoles first i hope they dont make us wait too long.

You are right Snoopers, visuals really don't show now that its such a 4-5 years development quality product. They are pretty and everything but doesn't look like a leap over Doom3. This game doesn't look like a Killzone-2 and Motorstorm killer either which it oints itself to be...

to be honest, the game mechanics and features also seem to be quite limited and out of time. Its shooting and racing in a limited canyon thats all... very restricted if you ask me in a time where games like Assassin's Creed 2 are coming about. ID's proposition isn't bringing a great new day for multi-platform dev.

interestingly this doesnt look like one of id's famous "twitch" shooters, which makes the 60fps upgrade seem a generous sacrifice which will probably give console crysis the edge graphically when its released.

Watched it in HD and was not very impressed with the graphics. They`re good, no question bit they didn`t blow me away or anything.
The rest looks pretty generic, if you ask me..

i gotta say, it doesnt look all that much more impressive then fallout 3 (it even has the same stiff animations). the only immediate difference is the realtime dynamic lighting/shodows...but for all the buzz around these uber textures, it doesnt look all that great.

the small clips of gameplay just look like doom 3, which can be seen as both a possitive and negative really depending on who you are. i dunno, nothing particuly stands out in this one...i'm waiting for doom 4.

Yeah, and also Fallout 3 had butts++loads of content and activities. F3's world was way more open and maneuverable too. while this game is going to show us how limited an open-world game can be.

Did your magic 8-ball tell you that? How about reserving such judgment until someone at least has had a chance to play it :P
I think it looks good. Just how impressive it is is hard to tell without being able to explore the world, but it sure as hell doesn't look bad.

Since this is the first game that id has release since working in the same company as Bethesda, it'll be interesting to see if the latter has any (positive) influence on the former. It certainly looks like it from the first part of the trailer—and the second half is all id.

Saw the trailer yesterday.. looks awesome. What really impressed were the animations.
Story... well, ID arent exactly known for their deep storys. I just hope it plays better than their last 2 efferts. Quake 4 was a joke. And Doom 3 a uninspiring.

Looks outstanding and a perfect storm of amazing artists and amazing tech. Kind of like you get with Epic but hopefully this time with a deeper, less brainless game in there too!

And 60fps! Oh how I wish more developers would realise how important this is.

I can't say I wet myself with excitement like others clearly have after watching that trailer. Yeah, it looks pretty good, but I can't see a lot there that indicates this game is going to be some kind of benchmark for FPS games.

Not to mention that, judging from the snippets shown in that trailer, the gameplay itself is incredibly bland.
