The new trailer shows why Sam Fisher has to become what the Blacklist fears most. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist is coming in August.

this is not splinter cell .
please stop calling this a stealth game .
its not that any more , its not made for the loyal fans .
i cant believe there still pushing this panther bullcrap .
sam fischer was always about stealth , hiding bodies , using gadgets , being the ultimate assassin , and michael ironside.

this is a action , dumbed down game for 13 year olds

very dissapointed

I played the preview code for more than 3 hours, it is Splinter Cell and it is stealth. The only problem is that Ironside isn't there anymore and that Eric Johnson (I think that's his name) sounds too young to be believable as the father of a 30-year-old daughter. It especially shows during the phone conversations with her.

And mind you, the game is very challenging even in normal mode so I doubt a 13-year-old is likely to have fun. I played the preview on the third dificulty setting (which corresponds to hard) and entering gun blazing is impossible. The hardest difficulty setting even makes it impossible to mark and execute.

You can hide bodies, there are tons of gadgets and stealth really gets more and more challenging as you progress into the game. You don't even have to upgrade your gadgets if you want a more hardcore experience. That way you'll get less support during missions (if say you don't want to see through walls for example). Even all hud indicators can be turned off.

i think i have watched all the videos and trailers, and i never got the sense of everything you said .
i havent seen him pick up a body .all i see him is move like he is gliding and "mark and execute" every video
i will wait for a demo or some more in depth gameplay .

Well, you watched videos, like I said I played the first three hours of the game. ;)

This episode seems to be a mix of old and new but you can tell the game isn't meant to be played like a shooter. The only difference is that levels aren't all set at night so stealth isn't just about staying in the dark.

Sounds pretty good. My hopes were low after Conviction turned out to be such shit but you've given me some hope for this one. At least they got rid of that annoying black and white stealth effect right? Thanks for the mini preview ;)

No black and white stealth effect this time, don't worry.

I actually wrote a full preview on the French side but I didn't have time to translate it before going on vacation.

If you guys have any question though, I'll try to answer as many as I can. I played the beginning of the single player campaign as well as Spies vs. Mercs.

Pandora tomorrow was the best in the Splinter Cell's series, especially the train and airport level

Aside from an inappropriate voice actor, did you get a feeling that it is indeed a Splinter Cell game and a successor of previous iterations up to Chaos Theory? Or a completely different game in familiar setting. After watching most of videos i should agree with Radsy here for now.

It felt a lot like Splinter Cell, even if Sam is a lot more agile than before. I mean I've played them all, but it's been a while since I played the first trilogy so I guess it's not exactly the same but it felt like it. You can peek under a door before entering, draw a guard attention by whistling or use a sticky cam to lure them somewhere and gas them, etc. From what I have played, it looks as if Ubisoft managed to mix the old Splinter Cell games and Conviction. Again, trailers usually have very little in common with in-game content nowadays, they're all edited in order to show an action packed experience in order to appeal to a wide audience. So unless the rest of the game changes drastically, Blacklist is a lot more enjoyable when playing it as a stealth game.
