Xbox 360 PS3

Electronic Arts released this teaser vidéo for the next (yet unnamed) Need for Speed. Even though the actual game is not shown, one can deduct (if not hope) that the game will be played in broad daylight, and that we'll finally be able to smash the cars.

nothing new , just the usual EA CGI target renders , lets see if for once they actually keep up with them, seriously CGI should be banned from video games and punishable by law and death. use the game engine! its saves space and keeps the player inmerse in it.

It's nice that they're finally ditching the underground image. Those games sucked ass

That's not pre-rendered people... that's in-game. You can tell by the edges, bloom effect, and the lack of Anti-Aliasing.

Edit: I looked at the stills some more and it could go either way but if it is CG it not very good CG

People seem to be forgetting the modelling, cloth and grass shaders in the FIFA games are absolutely astounding, not to mention Fight Night Round 3's graphics. Both EA games.

Yet people doubt EA's artists. The games are graphically good, and I expect this to be. What I'm concerned about is the gameplay.

Whether CG or not I love the fact that the car has two different types of rims on it! LOL! Love it.

CGI without a doubt. Still will probably go for this as theres only one street racer and its PGR. Been waiting for an arcade circuit racer for ages.

This is called Need for Speed: Pro Street, if you were looking for a name. And I agree that that could very well be ingame footage.

They should just start calling them "The next Need for Speed" because they're running out of names. What will this be, the 50th?

I'de bet the first 40 seconds is running on the game engine. The last part is obviously CG.

Damage, nice.

But, I wonder how it is going to be implemented, because after a while, your car is going to be nothing but dents (for the less skilled drivers amoung us).

what happened to the series? i used to love back in the days when NFS was about racing around the world in real exotics. why can't they just turn back to this and drop the TFATF-pimped ricer image?

from the images its hard to tell, but after watching the trailer im fairly confident it's in game (these are the guys that brought us FN3 afterall)..if it's CG then it not very good CG...i think the very last scene is CG tho, smoke effects look pre-rendered

yeah, the fast and the furious craze really screwed up the series.

anyway, the car that wrecks into the wall isn't the same one from the first part, so there's some cgi in there somewhere.
