TECMO KOEI ANNOUNCES NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR'S EDGE
FOR PLAYSTATION 3 AND XBOX 360

New Iteration of Famous Action Series from Developer Team NINJA Is Packed with New Features, Brutally Tough Challenges, Additional Playable Characters, and Bonus Content

BURLINGAME, Calif. – FEBRUARY 6, 2013 – TECMO KOEI America today announced that NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR'S EDGE, the latest chapter in the famed action series, is coming to the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. In the Team NINJA-developed title, the enigmatic warrior Ryu Hayabusa must fight to lift a curse that threatens to destroy him. NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR'S EDGE features additional playable characters, a new gameplay mode, a redesigned battle system with enhanced enemy AI, a robust Ninja Skills upgrade system, expanded online features including bonus content, and a host of other features. The game is scheduled to launch both at retail and via digital download on April 2nd 2013.

"NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR'S EDGE is the most action-packed and feature rich NINJA GAIDEN game ever created," said Yosuke Hayashi, Team NINJA leader. "The brutal combat will challenge the hardest of hardcore NINJA GAIDEN fans while also rewarding them with tons of bonus content and new features including three playable female characters, new stages, and three times as many Ninja Trial missions."

NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR'S EDGE was designed from the ground up to satisfy core action fans with a redesigned battle system, improved enemy AI, greatly reduced QTE scenes, and the return of dismemberment. Even with severed arms or legs, enemies will fight on and players will find they have to change attacks on the fly to win brutally tough battles-the challenge level leaves little room for error. The Ninja Skills systems lets players use Karma earned in combat to freely purchase weapon and Ninpo upgrades, feats, and costumes. Adding to the variety of gameplay, Kasumi, Ayane, and Momiji all join Hayabusa as playable characters. Ayane will get her own chapters in story mode while all three female characters can be played in the new Chapter Challenge mode and Ninja Trials co-op play with multiple costume options.

Chapter Challenge mode is available with ten chapters including all-new Ayane stages. In this mode, players will compete for the highest score possible in each chapter of the story. Six brutal weapons are available to Hayabusa throughout the game, including the new Jinran-Maru & Blade of the Archfiend dual swords, Lunar Staff, and Kusari-gama. Additionally, Inferno, Wind Blades, and Piercing Void have been added as deadly new Ninpo. In the new Tests of Valor challenges, players who find Crystal Skulls hidden in each level will be transported to face off in skill-testing battles with familiar bosses from the NINJA GAIDEN series.

The online features in NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR'S EDGE have been greatly expanded, with all the previously paid DLC from NINJA GAIDEN 3 available as a bonus. The Ninja Skills upgrade system works online to let players use Karma to purchase 64 customizable features for the Unknown Ninja used in multiplayer Clan Battles. Supporting up to eight players, five brand new Clan Battle stages have been added. Players can use all of Hayabusa's weapons and Ninpo in Clan Battles, giving them access to their favorite methods of attack. The number of missions in Ninja Trials has been tripled to 100, and all four playable characters-Hayabusa, Ayane, Momiji, and Kasumi-can be used in this co-op mode.

Glad i skipped the beta version. Will give a try to this for sure. :)

Story mode will be still trash-y for sure, but with all of the improvements Trials would be good fun.

Even though i played and finished the original, this is what original should have been like. The gore is back and it looks way better than NG2.
The bloock and bloodsplatter looks thicker and all over the place.

I am glad they have packed enough content from NG2 weapons with new moves and animations to match NG3 combat, new abilies, new characters especially my new favorite Kasumi and returning back outfits for Ryu and great DOA5 ninja outfits for the girls.

Anyways, i will definitely get this one i just hope they fix the framerate and unresponsive controls since those are really annoying.

I only got NGS2 on ps3 so getting this gorefested NG with solo trials and good combat, cant wait!

TN goes Capcom style :/. Not sure if I want to support this at full price (got CE of the vanilla, and while I'm absolutely good with its extra-content the game itself has disappointed me in a few ways). Must think about first I guess.

Jeez, you can't get costumes more raunchy than this. Seriously, TeamNinja nowadays sucks so much in design division.

Im very sorry Ninja Gaiden games have nothing ninja. Im a little tired of those sexy kunoichi costumes. Its very nonsense. Dont get me wrong, no problem watching half-naked chicks, but this just doesnt suit any ninja game. If this would see a real shinobi, he would bite his tongue into pieces and choke on his own blood. Just my opinion. I understand many people like this action packed NG stuff.

Who said its a true ninja game.
Itagaki since NG1 said its about being a super ninja, which is, whatever a ninja can do Ryu does it 10x better.
And the whole skimpy outfits for the girls, been with Team Ninja and pretty much most games from japan is a thing so it doesnt just go for this. and its a Team ninja thing so it shouldnt come as a surprise now.

Im just thinking. If Ryu does everything 10x better than "ordinary ninja", then he is never seen, never heard, killing all bosses with poison or stealth kill. :-D OK OK....I know its just a game. I just would like to see a game, which uses term "Ninja" and is true to its meaning. Thats all. Mark of the Ninja was close. I disagree with that Ninja Theory design think. New DMC is awesome. Also Enslaved and Heavenly Sword was great. But its all just the matter of taste. I know those outfits for girls are very common in games. I was just wondering, how this fits the ninja game.

I'm sure in DOA4 Ryu earned the title "Singular Super Ninja", and before that he owned an antique store.

Ryu has always been more warrior and less ninja, Hayate is WAY more ninja than Hayabusa.

Hayate is more ninja-esque than Ryu for sure, god i would LOVE to have Hayate in NG as DLC. i dont get it, they create new females or put in Rachel that makes no sense as playable but not Hayate...obviously majority of DOA and NG fans want it but Team Ninja being horny bastards they keep jamming females in.

Yes, it would be great. I enjoyed these games.

About that Ninja Theory and their estrogen inclination I must say I have opposite feelings, when playing their games. The way they present their male characters is sometimes....dont know....feels very g** (this word is prohibited on this site ). Nothing against it, but.....You know....sometimes it seems very obvious or how to say it. OK..forget it. I must say, their female characters are very attractive, so, I think the balance is restored. :-D

Yup...very nicely done. I also love the main menu, seeing only her reflection in the display. Great idea. There was one thing, I always disliked on NT. Their bad animation transitions and framerate. I was so pissed during playing Enslaved. Bad framerate ruined this great game. It was awesome and everything, but I found my self focusing more on that bad framerate then the game itself. What a shame. Thats why I bought their new DMC on PC and Im very happy with its 60 fps.

NT cant do good enough animation, DMC is the only one i seen them do decent. And framerate, always bad.
I never liked any of their games, and i doubt i will ever do so.

I found Heavenly Sword's animations pretty good (even though the gameplay was xtremly boring).

yeah, i thought the animations where pretty awesome tbh. facial animations in particular. i even liked the game in general, even though it was a bit of a god of war rip off, but it was just criminally short with barely any replay value. i kinda wish they kept using that engine though, rather then the UE3 engine they switched over to. guess it was a bit too bespoke for the PS3 or something?

So am I. This is the version I've been waiting for. Just finished NG2 again and now I'm looking forward to finally picking up NG3.

My hopes aren't up too high, though. Team Ninja definitely lost their mojo when Itagaki left. Hopefully they're starting to realize what made their previous games so great.
