Xbox 360 PS3

Rockstar Games has just updated Grand Theft Auto IV's official website with a video introducing its main character, Niko Bellic. This production, certainly one of the most awaited one of 2008, will be available in shops starting next Tuesday.

yeah i saw the world premier review for the game and not only did it get a ten from igns website but damn it really deserves, i didn't know the multiplayer has the whole city available to 16 player online. thats fucking insane with that much space between players it should've been like 24 or maybe 32 but still any game that supports more than 2 players in an environment that huge and that detailed deserves some credit. rock star really did well with this game, has a cover system, has badass gunplay and explosions, flying, good driving mechanics and the bystanders are all rendered in that euphoria engine which is just amazing. i also heard theres a scaling mechanic thats almost like assassins creed. well come monday i wont be playing anything else for a while, even after i beat this game the multiplayer is robust and the single player experience is always a welcome in my book. goddamn game getting me all excited 4 days before its release.

It isn't as hard as you think to include something like that, but it is a great addition. I've heard rumors about being able to turn off the name tags in multiplayer server settings so that players can blend in with civilians unnoticed and pop out of nowhere to take you out.

Cannot wait. IGN rarely gives out 10s, been a VERY long time since the last one, and when they do give one out it really means something.

Wonderful video...IMO it kinda lead the new "way", GTA has taken with this 4° chapter.
Cool.

About the IGN's 10.
Nice, but i can't stop thinking about the 9.9 they give to San Andreas...a game that was, to me, really lame.

Kinda corny but whatever. I'm just hoping this game ends up feeling like GTA4 and not GTA3.4.

This video should have been released a week ago. Now it just drowns in all the"illegal" gameplay videos and live streams out there.

It's the most important of the character videos and then they hold it back until now? Down right stupid imo...

Can't wait to get my hands on the game though. It will be a true Next Gen game, don't you think ManThatYouFear? :D

Agreed. GTA:SA was nothing short of incredible. Most people didn't seem to like the black characters themed approach. I liked it, nothing over the top gangsta behavior like in SR.

That trailer is pretty cool. There is so much atmosphere, I guess I'll just get on top of the ESB to suck it in. ^^

Damn, I'm a bit on the fence with this game as to which version I'll be getting. Visually and technically, the PS3 version is supposedly superiour.

On the other hand, I much prefer the 360 controller and I presume the online portion will be a little smoother.

Aiii...

I don't care the online portion, PS3 for me. Less pop-in, smoother, smaller load times (but disk usage and i guess uber long install session), better sound, and i know i wont get a RROD or a disk read error :/ (got plenty of the disk read errors while playing the 2 last DVDs of lost odyssey).

Pretty thrilled now, that's nice it comes in may, plenty of days off to play here :)

Where did you get the idea that the game runs smoother on the ps3? the only difference is less popin in exchange for a lengthy install (there will still be texture popin), and slightly better AA in exchange for less vibrant colours. Frame rate and textures are exactly the same.

Ofcourse the graphics whore in me wants the less texture popin (notice ign didnt say popUP)... but weigh that against a much better controler in the 360, and the fact that online seems to be a huge part of this game...and xbox live should give a much smoother experience in that, complete with mics, and buddy lists. Add to that future dlc which rockstar claim to be BIG...not simply added missions, but extended world big. Then i recon slightly more pop in is a compramise to live with.
