Xbox 360

Microsoft finally announced the release date of Ninety Nine Nights in Japan: April 20. You can already count on me for lots of videos of this game as soon as possible, but in the meantime you can already stare at these 20 new screens, unfortunately really badly compressed.

Amazing graphics, makes me wonder what Final Fantasy 13 will look like . :)

With this and FFXI's/new expansion being released in April 360 sales should start to pick up in japan.

i think so. look at the left at these things hanging down - it wouldn't go through if it was pre-rendered!

looks good, but this graphics not next-gen.this game need more AA and object based motion blur then it seems next-gen(pre rendered) graphics.

Looks awesome as always, uses the ingame models for realtime cutscenes so they look exactly the same, image that they look that good with 2000 characters on screen. That is impressive. I was always going to buy this game but each release of info makes me more excited.

Keep in mind people similar to ghost recon and every other next gen game. This will look a hell of a lot better when its actually running on your 360. Screenshots are just an indication of what to expect.

This game was made by over 100 people 10 from different companies I can't wait to get my hands on this title.

I don't give a crap about object based motion blur. Next gen shouldn't be about gimmickery. I want to see highly detailed textures complemented with detailed bump mapping, and this game is doing well on that front. In my experience, the Japanese seem to have a fear of high resolution textures, favouring a smoothed out, dreamlike look to characters and environments. I think it's definitely a good thing that we're starting to see lifelike characters with realistic looking skin and eyes, that still retain the excentricities and visual styles implemented by Japanese developers that are so endearing.

yeah just what i thought....the u3.0,project offset and wardevil engines are already capables of such effect....
i also wish more complex hair(those still look somewhat current genish) a la mgs4 trailer.....e
yeah next gen gfx should resemble a prerenderd movie a la geow....

mgs 4 was a realtime demo..... completely different than actual ingame.

For example pc gamers here know that an ati radeon 9800 pro can run that ruby double-cross demo in real-time and be able to spin camera angles etc etc. But does anybody here for a second think a radeon 9800 pro could handle such graphics in realtime gameplay? Of course not. Which is why any sort of demo whether it be real-time or not is absolutely smoke and mirrors until we see it pulled off ingame. Then again this is kojima we are talking about so he'll most likely achieve a very high level of detail in mgs4, but I still highly doubt the game will look every bit as good as that realtime-demo did.

I swear, some people won't say something is next-gen unless they can't tell it apart from their own reality. Well boys and girls, it ain't gonna happen (at least anytime soon) Some of the games coming out for the 360 look intensly unbelievable (GOW, GRAW, Fight Night), and that is good enough for me.

If you READ, the captures were badly compressed (i.e. the jaggies). And the MGS4 trailer does not look realistic; the characters are not made to be so; they are drawn in a popular japanese art style which does look pretty cool.

Also, MGS4, like wardevil and some of the footage from N3, are in-engine (meaning rendered in realtime). Project offset is a looooooong way off, and by then it's graphics will be just par.

Just my 2 cents.
