Xbox 360 really needs this quality games to stand as a next-gen console! I really hate the fact that we see all these stupid conversions from current-gen consoles beeing made for 360 with litle difference! Gun, Amerikan Wasteland, Need For Speed Most wanted and BurnOut Revenge are games that have been made for current-gen and make xbox 360 owners anxious while PS3 laughs with its silence that puts its self already away from the current-gen!!Microsoft must say !!NO!! to this and stop making games like that at once! 360 needs games that are made for Next-Gen first and then for the current-gen like GRAW!Sony always shows what the gamers need to see! Have a look at Heavenly Sword Video and you'll see what I mean! Its sad enough that for the first time console technology is ahead from the game creatos and most of the next-gen juice comes from the anticipated Unreal Engine 3!At least we should have the choise among games lige N3,GRAW&Oblivion and not like Tomb Raider Legend which till last week you couldn't say the difference between PS2 & 360! This has to stop!!
Sidons: You need to be more aware of how little Sony is actually showing, not every game is going to have the budget to match their flagship titles (see Untold Legends, Fifth Phantom Saga etc.) so they are keeping exposure of those to a minimum.
Those are some of the best shots of this game yet! The faces and the emotion are being taken to a new level! I've never been a fan of playing the 'goblin or orc' type characters, but this character is really appealing! Can't wait for this game to hit the States!

STill no announcment about EU version...this is why ps3 games will be great,"region free".
So we europeans can get these titles :S
"region free" is great, but in this case, I don't speak Japanese. In fact, I can only speak Americanized english. I'd be missing out on a large portion of the game if I couldn't follow the storyline.
Also, "region free" is up to each publisher, not Sony. Their hardware won't discriminate, but publishers can still opt to do so using encoding at the software level. Similarly it's been reported that some 360 games are region indiscriminate.
according to this one site i read, they said Famitsu 360 gave this game a 10/9/9/9 (37/40).
to answer one of the earlier there are things you pick up like armor and such, but i think this game is more about being story driven. you could label it a button masher, but you could label a ton of really good games button mashers and if you simply mash buttons, you'll die very quickly in this game. i tried it on the old demo :)
The main characters sure look superb, but surroundings could use some work... It's just so empty...deserted:(
From what I've seen on vids or screens, the gameplay looks nice, but how it will actually play?... Button mashing all the way? Developers said, that there is some strategy too. Like 20% of the game... but I'd like to see some vids or screens about that... Only "strategy" I've seen in this game, is picking up those crates with better weapons and then just use them :(
If it's just a button masher with pretty graphics, but nothing else,"no thanks!"

They will not be region free.. developers have the choice to add region locking on any blu-ray just like 360 devs can leave it off 360 DVD..
Besides unless you speak Japanese no point getting a Japanese game ..
There is a purpose why developers choose to lock their games to a certain region (different pricing structures mainly) and i can't see why it would change just because Sony says so .. (most people can't be bothered to import either so it makes little difference)
This game looks ok, I'm not as excited for it as i was ..

I hear what your saying but if the PS3 had come out before the 360 it would have seen the same fate... MS hit the market before dev's were ready and they had to pay the small price of having a few last gen games on the system, in 12 months it won't of made much difference, because the 360 will be a generation ahead of the PS3.
It doesn't matter Tomb Raiders looks better than the other platforms and that is good enough the PS3 doesn't have TR: legends which is a first, comsidering every other TR has been on the playstation format. (it'as not always about how good a game looks)

The way this game has been trotted infront of gamers at all types of events, I can't imagine they'd leave out a viable market. Especially considering the investment in this game.
If there is no euro release (because they feel it won't be recieved well), then I'd bet that the US version is region free. Some companies never miss an oportunity to make some extra cash, and allowing gamers not in the target regions to play will do just that.
Games on PS3 will not be region free. The console itself as shipped will be region "agnostic", but will ask you where you live. Publishers will be able to target a game for a certain region only, and for the moment nothing has been told about the ability to change the region after the first install.

I was just wondering if the game has a deep gameplay system? or is it just a button masher with a meter to unleash your special attacks?
Does it have customizable weapons? characters? or just a pretty looking game with over 1000 enemies at once?
thanks for the images and video.!
