Xbox 360

Microsoft and From Software updated the Japanese Ninja Blade official site and I've of course captured all of it: Long version of the TGS trailer, gameplay from the TGS demo and misc gameplay. The framerate issues in the trailer and the TGS demo gameplay are due to the original encoding.
Update: The trailer has been replaced by the HD version from the Japanese marketplace.

This is kind a ripp-off from Ninja Gaiden and Heavenly Sword, the gameplay looks like the gameplay in Heavenly Sword and and the seting looks like Ninja Gaiden.

Maybe it will be good tho!

ain't a bad thing ripping ideas from other great games, as long as they do it right.

Only if you've never played said games. I've played NG2 so I have no interest in this game. What I'd like to see is this developer make another Otogi already. Now that series had things going for it--amazing art, haunting music, unique characters (A floating tree stump? AW YEAH!), fully destructible environments... But instead, we get this.

It looks promising and the gameplay has a nice flashy cinematic flair, from software are pretty damn good at producing entertaining games.

It's set in a city.......how is that "ripping off ninja gaiden" thats almost as silly as saying that mirrors edge rips off mario because you can jump in it ;)

hmm, looks pretty decent, still not too fond of his head gear although looks pretty cool up close, but they appear to do it a tad too much and also counting abit too many QTE's, but otherwise I'm liking what I am seeing and hopefully they bui.ld on it and turn it into a quality title.

Day One to me^^ I like it since they show the game for the first time. I don´t mind If has similar things with Ninja Gaiden 2. Ninja Blade looks better graphically, I love the mix of direct action and QTE´s and the music sounds stuuning (IMO)
Looks very promissing

I'm guessing that it will be stunning to look at but a bit boring to play. The sequences when you are just running around hacking monsters look pretty "meh". But hey, i hope i'm wrong because i'm still looking for that definite action experience for this gen. Both DMC4 and NG2 let me down big time.

So, it's DMC just with a ninja. Looks sooooo easy and boring. It's another "hack and slay" in my eyes. NG has far better enemies. One single enemy in NG can be your death. I love this.

Sorry, Microsoft, you cant beat NGs gameplay. It's still the best :P not even with a (cheap) copy of Ryu Hayabusa lol

Yeah, the gameplay looks kind of boring considering the AI is stupid so far in these vids. The destructibility in Otogi seems to be absent from NB as well. From should have just made another Otogi game. I'm still looking forward to play this game though.

I don´t think the AI will be like that allways. It seems to remain in easy+++ mode, but I hope to see more enemy movement in normal or hard mode. I hope it...

Both games are part of one of the most unvaried genre's around. Most of those kids of games are pretty much the same, this game isn't ripping of of them, its just being another game thats similar.

But it looks pretty uninspired even for a hack and slash ninja game... At least Guiden looked interesting and fun.

I'm pretty sure almost no one on this site even knows what Otogi is, which is sad because it and the second game are one of the best on the Xbox. I want to like Ninja Blade simply because its from the same team. But, watching these videos it seems the Otogi magic isn't there. I'm hoping later on with more polish it will be as great as the Otogi games were. If not then we can always hope for a Otogi 3.

Of coarse everyone knows what Otogi is, even though it sales didn't do so well. My experience with Otogi games goes as far as the demo's. I played the first one and loved how you could destroy just about everything, the epic magic spells and awesome way he could transport through the air. The second improved on all of this and added other characters you could quick swap with but the problem with Otogi and reason I didn't buy them was because even though it had some of the best gameplay the thing that keeps me playing games is story. I never caught me in that way.

Never really understood why otogi got so much attention. Sure it's pretty and you can smash stuff, but the gameplay is pretty weak. At least that's how i experienced it. And i really did try to enjoy it, but after the first 5 or 6 levels i just couldn't play any more, it was so dreary.

And really, Pythxvii, if you think all action games are the same then you either don't know what you are talking about or you are just trolling. NG, DMC, God of War and Otogi are all games in the same genre yet they are nothing alike once you get past the fact that they are all in third person and about beating shit up with weapons.

The first Otogi was harder to get into since you were pretty underpowered in the beginning. I actually found it average at first until I kept playing. Once you get to a certain level and acquire the more powerful weapons, that's where the action actually makes you feel like a powerful warrior. Otogi 2 is better at giving you this feeling in the beginning. Combat-wise, it's behind NG and DMC but ahead of Heavenly Sword and GOW imo. The thing Otogi does well is give you a feeling of impact from your swings when you hit enemies and destroy building.

Wow this game looks unbelievable. I already know the combat won't be anywhere quite as deep as Ninja Gaiden 2, but this game definitely grabs my interest more.

I definitely won't be passing this up.

That sequence down the roof actually looks pretty awesome, and that bit with the huge serpent-thingy looks cool as well.

This whole game has me so confused, it's really hit and miss in every aspect. The animations sometimes look cool (like the wallrunning ala POP), but often enough they look horrible and lack fluidity and flair. The visual "sprites" that appear during animations have something going for them, but far too often they're overdone.

The environments are badly chosen imo, just like NG2. It just doesn't make sense, and I suppose it doesn't have to, but it just takes you out of the experience. They are much better done than NG2's though, definitely.

As for visuals, they range from good to bad. The greenish filter, I am not digging and the character design is not all that great either imo. Some of the enemies look good though and like with that sequence down the roof, the graphics kind of have that 'wow' factor, kind of.

It could be a nice surpise, but so far I can't really make any sense out of this game.

That's an odd way of looking at it. I've also played NG2, which makes me hyped for this game. I want more more more awesome ninja action, and this is the closest thing too it at the moment, so I cling on desperately.
