Microsoft in on fire with the new Ninja Gaiden 2 medias these days since they already released five new screens along with a new gameplay video of that slightly bloody game.
I think technology has finally caught up with Team Ninja. Judging from the pics and the video, the game doesnt look very next gen. They used to be at the top of their game when it came to visuals, but it seems like another Japanese company has fallen victim to the age of multi-core coding.
It moves fast as hell, but the animation seems lackluster. I am hoping for improvement before release.

There is tons and tons of aerial attacks from Ninja Gaiden, it doesn't have to do its exclusive in NG2 or what not.
So just watch videos from NG games and you will see Ryu doing aerial attacks, his famous one is Izuna Drop.
He is doing it on the 3rd image, he just came down.
He slashes the enemy up in the air, slashes them 3-5 times or so, and then grabs the enemy and then goes upside down while twisting very fast to the ground, thats always a instant kill.
I don't like these new weapons, the dual katanas and claws just seem to produce a flurry of fast strikes...not even the vigoorian flail in the original came off as this much of a mash-fest.
Dual katanas isn't new, it was in Ninja Gaiden Sigma and its very very cool, however it didn't have so much combos and strength as the Dragon Sword (obviously :P)
The claws are just great as I see it. Theres to much swords and swicks in the game...claws are the only ones that can be put as "hand to hand" combat, which is very deadly in this case.
The Scythe is boring honestly, thats just boring. Big and clumsy.
I for one will use alot of Dragon Sword, Dragon's Claw & Tiger's Fang (dual katanas) and that new weapon, the hand and foot claws.
I'd play if I could turn the gore down to only blood splatter. I'm not too keen on gore at the wrong moments. Maybe it actually feels good when playing, but still.
Sath: if the notion i get from the videos are correct i'll get bored way fast if i play with the claws and i tried the dual katanas in sigma so i already know that the "meh" factor is pretty high there. I love when every hit is well planned and executed with great care and timing. When every slash is controlled and planned it's gaming at it's best. Just thinking about it makes me want to play NG Black again *drool*

IT's the UT ( = ultimate technique) from the dual katanas (a whirlwind attack). You can absorb the blue, yellow and red stuff (Essence) from fallen enemies by holding the Y Button to use it for the spcecial moves. Each Weapon has at least one.
It's the same special move like NGS dual katanas. Ryu lift the enemy and himself for multiple hits (makes no sense but looks cool :D )
BTW, the game looks awesome to me. Very nice, clear and sharp graphics.

You guys may be forgetting this game comes out late 2008, but personally I don't care about the tech its about the art and the gameplay looks great.
It's scheduled for spring, currently. Yeah, spring 2k8. But I expect the game to come out no sooner than the holiday season, and it might even be delayed to 2k9.
