As promised, the replays have finally become available in DriveClub, as proven by four direct feed videos we just captured for your eyes only. The update is free and can be downloaded now.
Evolution have truly turned things around. Outside of being the best looking game out there it's also the most thrilling racing experience available and the controls are buttery smooth akin to the first 2 DiRT games and to think that I planned on never buying it. I have spent too much time in photo mode as well.

Your logic is perfect, ahah. You might as well count the tracks on Forza as the locations on DC, which are about 5 locations. Or you can count all the variations(reverse tracks included) on each game and probably come up with more balanced numbers to compare. Definitely isn't 11 vs 50 like you said lol.
Besides, you have to account the bigger number of cars in Forza, with all possible upgrades you can do(I believe you can only change the paint on Driveclub cars). Or the physics in both games.
And finally, it's very relevant to mention that Forza 5 came out at console launch, while Driveclub was delayed for a year. And even then, it didn't come out with replays or even the biggest asset of the game which are the weather effects.

Yeah, those numbers were off, but I believe Driveclub did have more tracks. That being said, you're right Forza 5 came out at console launch as opposed to Driveclub which was delayed a year. While I like Driveclub better, Forza definitely left a much better initial impression.
As for the replay function (and all other delayed functions), I'm glad they waited and got it right instead of throwing out something crappy. Looking at you PCars with your horrendous replays. Looking at you.
Not really a fan of the camera changes/locations or how much the camera moves but hey, they added something that should be at launch.
Now only if they can add some soundtracks.
Just did a few replays and got a good look at it myself. There are a couple issues here and there, but overall it's an amazing replay function. My favorite part about it is the ability to switch into photo mode directly since it is a full rendering. Really sells the games visuals.
@norbert You can change the view so it doesn't ever show the tires. You can even switch to an above and behind camera that lets you look around the car with the right thumbstick. And the tire shots are awesome.
The replay function serves its purpose well and I really like the new drifting model. Good update. Can't wait for the Lambos to come in next week.
And yeah, it was terrible at launch but it's getting better with each update.
wow, it was really worth the wait! The replays remind me of how nicely the camera are set and gives great scenic look to the surrounding track as the cars race around them - you have full function of replays too so it can be mixed or just proper trackside/broadcast angles like gran turismo series.
Also reminds me of how good the replays were in the WRC series which Evo developed too back in the golden era of the PS2 days! ;)

Destroys any other arcade racer.
Physics are excellent, handling is part sim/arcade. Graphics unmatched.
You should go look at the paper cutouts of people in Project cars. awful.
The physics are not excellent, They do not resemble real life in the slightest infact they are very very poor, Then you go onto talk about paper cut outs of people in Project Cars? Rather than the amazing physics that game has....Really fucking odd!
I have put much more hours into DC than any other PS4 game and while it's a great looking game for me it's far too arcadey, Much more arcadey than PGR it's almost Grid 2 arcade like. Hopefully they work hard on psysics for DC2 and it really could be as good as PGR with alot of hard work put into it.
Do you guys know they added factory paints for AI cars? So you dont need to race them with their cartoony looking liveries...Game looks much better because of it.

You sir need to go back and play PGR
The only games where I've seen so much wallriding other than Driveclub were Flatout UC and Brunout Paradise. You needed actual skill to control the faster cars in PGR 3 and 4 whereas in DC the fastest times are made using the wall riding technique, which just proves how much arcadey it is.

Wouldn't that actually suggest that the cars in DC are harder to control?

There's no way "the wall" is the best line....
Huh...no, it wouldn't suggest that. Pretty much the opposite. The cars are so unaffected by collisions that going along the wall actually helps making a corner.

Ah.. I see. I guess it's only really effective in super tight corners.
I haven't played the game.. I was just trying to imagine how riding the wall could possibly give you the best line. I see now that it's more about powering through a tight bend at unrealistic speeds. Screw the line if you're going 3x as fast :P
