GSY Video PC PS4 Xbox One

If you thought Dark Souls III was too easy compared to its predecessors, Ashes of Ariandel might be for you. Even though this first DLC is more challenging than the main game, From Software didn't want to alienate themselves from those who discovered the series with the third episode, hence the presence of many bonfires. Still, the early steps in the extension are a bit rough, even with a high level character, as it tends to be much more frequent to be surrounded by enemies, not to mention some of the new foes that can sometimes be even more dangerous than some of the bosses of the main game. The only downside, if you're not interested in the PVP features, is that it doesn't take much more than 2 hours to complete the DLC, with only 2 new bosses to defeat.

Thats kinda how infeel. I got rekt, need to git gud. Seriously though, i find that particular boss to be kind of bullshit. I mean, its obviously not impossible, bit it feels rather unfair for a Dark Souls boss.

Haven't got a chance to try the DLC yet, but people say it's really great. And that the second boss fight - no spoilers - is one of the best in the series, and that it alone is worth the price of admission.

Try different weapons, strategies, grind and level up more, or try a different build if you can. Like Einstein said: "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."

All the best of luck!

Without any spoilers; you'll get what i mean when you get there.

Maybe it's just me, but i think that fight is a bit disappointing. It's a spectacle visually, but it's kinda crap mechanically. Which, imo, the game kinda admits as well (which i can elaborate on later if you want).

OnS is my favorite boss fight in all of souls, cause it's hard as shit, but also completely fair (some technical issues aside). It just perfectly represets what Souls is all about in a single fight. Play that shit safely and you'll win every time. Can't say that i think that's the case for this one. I've literally been trying to play this boss for hours, with different weapons, different approaches and anything i can think of, except for summoning other players but it feels like a crapshoot every time. And it's not like i'm just awful at the souls games either.

Well, there might just be something i'm missing or that i'm just terrible at this particular fight. I don't know. I had a hard time with Old Hunters as well, many of the bosses just felt like complete and utter bullshit to me there as well.

I believe From increased the difficulty since most veterans got very good at the games, i.e. accustomed to the difficulty in the main games of the series. So they most likely tried to increase it to offer something more challenging.

There's also the fact that at just 2 hours long, they might have done it to increase the time spent with the DLC, so that people don't finish it as fast.

PS. Ornstein and Smough - along with Artorias - are the best boss fights in the Souls games imho.

Yeah, i mean when i played DkS3 the first time i had a REALLY hard time with several bosses. But then i sort of got the hang of the game and now i can get through the main game without too much trouble. But the problem i have with this particular boss is that it's even hard to get the practice in to "git gud" as it were. You'll probably understand once you play it, if you haven't seen it yet.

This DLC is much hard than the main game like the Bloodborne DLC, and I don't know why I can't find people to summon before the boss fights, from now on I'll never buy a DLC from these devs again, I'm starting to hate grinding, devs should find a new fun way to level up.

I never watch Souls games' boss fights, prefer to experience them unspoiled and learn how to deal with them by myself. But now I'm very curious to try it by myself and see how much harder it is.
