With its will to pay tribute to Silent Hill, Husk really got us intrigued, but the 90 minutes or so we have spent with the game have failed to convince us so far, despite its rather nice visuals.
This new horrific walking simulator manages to set a pretty good atmosphere, mainly thanks to its lighting and special effects, and though not a real looker, the game is convincing enough to be engaging at first. Sadly, its very linear structure, in which all items of interest are simply given to the player, takes away the exploration aspect we expected from a Silent Hill heir. The stealth mechanic included in the game is a letdown too, as the poorly animated enemies can be outrun in most cases - which is a relief as they can spot you in what seems to be an haphazard manner. Finding a gun does not make the game a lot more interesting and we don't really see how the next few hours will ever be able to match what the series that inspired it brought us back in the days.
