How does buying it hurt anybody? CoD makes headlines in mainstream media, drives possible investors, unaware public. All healthy for the industry. You can hardly draw a comparison to any 'artistic' game anyway just like nobody compares Transformers to Citizen Kane. It is a specific form of entertainment you happen to be not a target audience of.

I dont know why gamers always bitch about this. I enjoyed all CoD and will get this as well. I always liked its SP and to be honest, it always was hundred times better then Battlefield SP. I enjoyed only Bad Company single player. But I dont visit every BF forum and say, hey people its SP is a fucking joke. If You dont like it, dont buy it. Simple.

It hurts devs who want to come up with new ideas, because at this point ppl buy a huge amount of iterative games like CoD and BF, and potentially good ideas don't even make it into development phase since publishers prefer titles that actually sell.
It also hurts gamers in the long run cos all they get will be the same titles with a few tweaks every year.

There's a lot more here to convince me to dip my toes into COD than previous installments - hell, the last one I played was Call of Duty 2 on 360 (thought it was amazing at the time). Love the space bits.

If you can seperate the brand from the product then nobody is condemning the brand of CoD but in fact the product. The most annoying thing is how they take no risks in the single player campaign, even though they have ample motive.

Make the iterative changes in the multiplayer that is the bread and butter of the CoD experience but the Single player is where creative minds should flex thier muscles especially since good or bad - the single player that is- the majority buy CoD for the multiplayer.

Changing the tone to something comical or futuristic or in design like making it open world, anything but the same thing could only be beneficial. Freshness can come from many facets outside the core gameplay, use them.

There's two sides to the argument isn't there. One, that gamers are braindead morons that buy annual releases not because they enjoy the games but because they know no better. That the call of duty brand has diluted the market. Two, that the cod brand brings something new with it iteration, that people enjoy playing it because the basic gameplay mechanics are sound, and that its because those gameplay mechanics are so tight that it influences other games to adopt them.

The game hurts nobody in reality. People have the option to vote with their wallets. Games like this do bring huge attention to gaming outside of gaming sources.. that's good regardless of if you like the game or not. Gamers aren't braindead. When there's nolonger a desire for these yearly cods they'll no longer buy them. With seen this with the guitar hero games. Innovation and investing in risks is great..but rarely rewarded. And each triple A title that comes out each year and plays it safe (though cod does bring something different to the table from the last. They touched upon the futuristic last year) has probably helped breed and grow the indie scene...where theres far lower risk to take chances.

Oh stop it, its obvious people still enjoy the games and they can buy whatever they want. Just because you guys don't like CoD anymore doesn't mean others don't. Why do people insist on pushing their beliefs on others?

People like shooting stuff, and CoD is the easiest, most popular, accessible game to let you do so. So.... let people buy it, even if its recycled crap.

That damn Stutter is unbelievable and unacceptable. This is an unfinished game and Activision needs to get their shit together ASAP or they will lose a lot of ground on PC Gaming to Battlefield.

I don't think you can shoot a gun just like that in the space even with the help of the jetpack. Is it only me who think Moonraker 007 was more logical because the laser gun is recoilless?

The more that they continue to make these, the more they remind me of those SEGA arcade shooters. Even the narrators voice and guitar riffs when you do something are spot on. All it needs is a clock in the center of the screen up top and a blinking player 2 insert coin(s) in the top right.
