I have to be honest with you. I know nothing about South Park. Still, the four hours I had time to play were so fun that I clearly intend to complete the game as soon as I can. South Park: The Stick of Truth is incredibly faithful to the TV show, but it doesn't forget to be a video game. Take a look at all our HQ videos from the PC version and tell us what you think.
Note: On PC framerate is locked at 30 fps, which makes sense considering how the series is animated.
Quick impressions
As a role playing game, South Park: The Stick of Truth does a great job, although RPG fans will probably think 12 to 15 hours to complete is a bit short for the genre. Still, for a South Park episode, you have to admit it's a pretty long ride to experience. Gameplay mechanics are solid, humor is "South Parkish" (which basically means you'll either love it or hate its guts) and in the end it's a really awesome game. Sure, loading screens could have been less frequent (they happen every time you enter a building, even on PC, and it gets old quite fast), but other than that it looks and sounds just like it should. Obsidian did the best of job, which can't have been easy with the bankrupt of THQ about a year ago. Thankfully, Ubisoft was there to keep the ship afloat and I think fans will be grateful. As a non fan of the show, I really enjoyed my time with the game, the only problem I had with it was that it made me realise I really should have watched the show all these years. I can't help but regret not being able to get all the tongue-and-cheeks references, but then again, it won't prevent me from playing. Yes indeed, that's how good the game is.

oh it's a horse.
I haven't watched regular TV in 10+ years and still know and follow many TV shows :)
The game is amazing BTW true SP expirience, it's obvious Matt and Trey were involved.
All I knew about South Park was that it was about a bunch of crazy kids who like to curse. Why would I want to watch that when dealing with those is already my day job? ;p
Anyway, game is really good and fans will love it, that's the bottom line.
Any other technical annoyances you experienced on PC?
(I love Obsidian but god knows they (1) Can't stick to a schedule and (2) Still release unpolished games.)
I guess the first few seasons were just foul language and farts, but it really has evolved to something a lot better over time. I mean, "Cartman get's an anal probe" is crap, "Fun times with weapons" is great :)
