You all know that our team is composed of a few virtual gentlemen drivers, so it probably won't come as a surprise to find out that we are all very interested in Slightly mad Studios' Project CARS. Here is a first series of 1080p videos of the pre-alpha build we captured using the 360 controller. More footage will come later this week, this time played with a driving wheel. To learn more about the game, and take a look at our videos, you know what to do.
Uodate: One more video added.
Project CARS is not your typical racing game in that it gives you the opportunity to take part in the developing process. To do so, all you need to do is to give the studio a small amount of money (or more if you are the businessman type), which will grant you the right to download the latest build of the game. For 10€, you will be allowed to get a new build every month and you will also get a 10€ discount on the game's purchase. For 25€, you'll have a new code every week and a 25€ discount. You can also decide to give 45€ right away, which means you won't be charged when Project CARS is released. More money can be donated, but like I said, most players will probably won't be able to afford it. If you want all the details, you should definitely check the official website.
Because Slightly Mad Studios' title is such an uncommon project, we decided it should be given some kind of uncommon treatment on our part. You must wonder what we mean by that but it's pretty simple actually. In the months to come, we plan on posting gameplay footage and "homemade" screenshots on a regular basis, along with our updated impressions on the game. No doubt that with Miguel, AbSoLuT_b and I to take care of it, you should have plenty of information. I have just gotten the game myself, so I won't be able to tell you much for now, but what I can say is everything I have seen so far seems very promising, hence my enthusiasm. I will simply start with a few words on my first impressions but I promise you will have more to sink your teeth into very soon. Just wait for Miguel to plug in his G27 and you'll see.
Even though it takes a bit of getting used to to play Project CARS with a 360 controller, the sense of speed is great and driving is incredibly pleasant. Steering is a bit sensitive but once you get a hang of it, it's just pure fun. Depending on the car, it is more or less difficult to handle the vehicle, and from what I can tell, it feels realistic enough to keep things interesting in the long run. Graphics wise, the cars look great, each having a very detailed cockpit view, and the tracks are equally impressive thanks to very good lighting effects. We particularly enjoyed driving the Californian coast or the French Riviera, so let's hope there will be more Point A to Point B environments to choose from in the future. Being pre-alpha, the code obviously isn't perfect, but quite honestly, even at this stage, it looks better than most racers out there. Cherry on the cake, sound effects are also praiseworthy and they should drive your neighbors crazy when you're up against 41 opponents (!).

Dang, this looks good.
It is certainly not perfect, but it looks good enough for me to find the game pretty. :)
Enough with the trolling, I'm off to bed. Enjoy the videos at least. ;)

To be able to try it out doesn't require more than signing up on their crowdfunding portal - http://www.wmdportal.com/
Good to see you guys are giving it some coverage.
Do'nt think we've ever seen that level of detail in a racer before
