First 10 minutes PC Xbox 360 PS3

Almost three years after Alex Mercer's new birth, Prototype 2 is about to introduce us to a whole new main character going by the name of James Heller. Not much has changed in this sequel, which basically means it is still a rather entertaining game with a few flaws. The lack of novelties will probably one of them for some, as most missions are very similar to those of the first opus, repetitive gameplay - though undeniably fun - could be another one for others. The graphics have been improved over the first Prototype but they are still way behind other open-world games, inFamous 2 being the first one that comes to mind. Here are a few gameplay videos showing extracts from the first hour of gameplay.

Better gfx but unfortunatelly nothing to suprise those who know the first game. Its still fun to play but they could at least try to add more new things. Good rental but Im dissapointed.

Nothing new really other than graphics and some minor tweaks to the combat and how to use the powers.

Mercer IMO is way better to control sense he doesnt move like if he is Hulk (Heller is human size Hulk IMO).
Mercer has much more mobility and acrobatic animations while Heller's main focus is just jumping super long and just being a brute strength.

But, I love Prototype series considering its the only open world "supernatural" character I know that makes you feel like you are on top of the world when you play it.

@ Sath You are 100% right. I liked Mercer so much better ( design wise, animations and overall badassery). I dont really care for Heller and his story. They messed this sequel a lot, better gfx is not a good reason to release new game. New ideas are.

@Geralto

I agree.

The only things I like about P2 is the magnificent color palette when you are low on health you get this black and white with strong colors like the cinematics, I love that!
Heller's super long jump is awesome too, reminds me of Morpheus in Matrix were he says to Neo "free your mind" and he leaps like a mad man.
And the melee feels more tighter with the powers, the red trails looks nice.

But all in all, Mercer is pure badass in this department, and seeing him in cutscene its just wrong!
All I want now as a "sorry" is to make Mercer skin as a DLC to everyone, since he is in Radnet edition.

I do love Prototype 2, but its just that Heller isnt as quick and acrobatic and lean looking badass like Mercer.
Give me Mercer as DLC and I will be happy lol

I think I'm about five or six hours into this. So far I have to say it's surprisingly good, it will depend on how much mission variety there is but as of now I'm still in the yellow zone.
Only thing that bugs me is the fact that the framerate tends to drop significantly during cutscenes.

It's really sad how all the NPCs are oblivious to the freaky sh*t you pull next to them. Hello ?? He just consumed someone but you prefer to keep analysing samples. Hello ?? That dude just leaped and flew in front of you ?? Etc...

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, Those Mo effers should scatter and run like hell. The game is fun though.
