Risen 3: Titan Lords was released in 2014 on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. The game is available today on PS4 with the subtitle "Enhanced Edition" and you can discover the beginning of the adventure with a few gameplay videos.
After Gothic I and II and the first Risen, it has been going downhill for this developer in my opinion. Risen 2 had a nice atmosphere, but the combat was absolutely terrible. From what i hear Risen 3 is just a bad game.

I played both and Risen 3 is better than Risen 2 imho. Better graphics, bigger world, more complex character systems, real factions, better crafting, more quests and much improved combat. At first I thought that Risen 3's combat was only slightly better, but when I played Risen 2 to compare both, it was a difference like night and day. Mind you, in Risen 2 you couldn't dodge at all and you couldn't block most monsters, which resulted in either you or your opponent dying from a never ending series of attacks. But in R3 it's possible to dodge and block from the start, you have two different attacks, and so on. Also the magic is pretty good and fun to play this time. On the other hand, Risen 3 has a weaker story, and becomes far too easy towards the end. But overall, it's the better game. I'd rate it 7 out of 10.
