Video Xbox One

Despite its technical flaws, Dead Rising 3 was one of the best games when Microsoft's Xbox One was launched back in late November. It was no surprise then to hear that Capcom had plans for several downloadable contents, which could be purchased one by one for €10/$10 or with the game's season's pass for €30/$30. The first episode (out of four) of Untold Stories of Los Perdidos was released a few days ago so here are a couple of videos we captured. Since the DLC is pretty short, you can also read our verdict about it inside.

The Gamersyde verdict

After discovering the adventures of the soldier Adam Kane, a character you won't find particularly interesting, it is difficult not to wonder why Capcom chose this rather unremarkable single player experience as first DLC in a series of four. For starters, you can't help but get this feeling of deja vu when playing Operation Broken Eagle, not because it is set in Los Perdidos (after all Rockstar always used the same locations in their DLC and it's never been a problem), but because everything you do you've already done in the main game despite two new types of objectives. The story (though we're not sure it deserves the name) is built on a series of fetch quests which will have you slaughter tons of zombies with a new vehicle and a five new weapons. The side quests aren't really exciting either, whether you're asked to find a teammate who's turned to get his dog tag (don't expect a boss fight as these guys are just like the regular undead), or to take out illegal bases (which only consists in pressing a button to smoke the place). In short, Operation Broken Eagle offers nothing that the main game hasn't already delivered and it can't even be played with a friend. Let's hope the three other episodes will be more convincing so they eventually justify the price tag.

But you can collect all other stuph, you have been missing in the main game, because the dlc doesn't have a time-limit. BIG advantage.

Otherwise, nice but short. Not great, but nice.

Very disappointing so far. If this is what the other three episodes are going to be like, then I'm seriously regretting buying the season pass.
