GSY Video PC Xbox One

As usual, the first weeks of a new year are pretty quiet, so until we can propose a bunch of videos of brand new games like Dying Light and Life is Strange next week, the Xbox Network sent us a bunch of Xbox ID Games to show you guys. We'll start with a title you probably know if you happen to play on your smart phone or tablet: Riptide GP 2. Released a year ago on PC, it is now available on Xbox One and it's pretty much the same arcade game. Don't expect anything spectacular graphics wise, but since there is basically no other water racing games except maybe in Kinect Sports Rivals, it can keep you busy a little while. A game you might enjoy a bit more if you often look back fondly on your younger years at the arcade in the 90s.

It also was on the tablets a couple of years ago. Looks great on XB1 and 60fps doesn't hurt. It's more Wave Racer 64 or Jet Moto than Hydro Thunder, but I'll take it!

Makes me want to play Wave Race (N64). That was a brilliant game with some not so obvious gameplay depth (in the late game where things got tight), real wave physics that mattered, and beautiful courses for that time.

Wave Race 64 is still the best in this genre.

It's crazy that the game is almost 20 years old (fucking hell!) and yet there hasn't been a game since that has bettered how the water mechanics - in that how the game actually feeds back to the control of how you'd imagine racing on waves would feel like - actually work. Blue Storm didn't even manage it, and it was its successor on a more powerful system.

This game is by far the one I have enjoyed the most on my Nvidia Shield.

The graphics and frame rate on Shield are identical to this new X1 version and the gameplay itself is good, I recommend this game to anyone.

That's the game I play most on my xbox (N64 emulator). So good for a 20 minute hit.

Carve was good fun on the 360 especially when playing online.

The graphics are bland and the music is generic but at least the devs understand that music is important in a game unlike some other stupid devs.
