GSY Video PC PS4 Xbox One

The Golf Club will be available on Xbox One today and you can always count on Gamersyde to provide you with high quality gameplay footage. Canadian developer HB Studios' first title features unofficial courses set in beautiful environments and lets you generate random ones, create your own and share them with the community. Local multiplayer is possible but online play hasn't been forgotten and you can compete against other players in real time (turn-based) or against ghosts. The game obviously includes everything you can expect from a golf title and theoretically offers unlimited longevity. The only downfall is that the game's performance is not as it should be on next gen. There are aliasing and frame rate issues, some tearing is also noticeable, not to mention the pop-up and the blurry look of the game (which has been announced to run at 720p on Xbox One). It's a shame as the environments are pretty nice at times. Thankfully, all the courses we've tried were interesting and challenging to play, makng this a potential buy to all those who can disregard performance issues and can afford the $34.99 price tag.

Sounds like a lazy PC port to me. They didn't bother optimising it. Shame :(

But at least Xbox One gets a new game since tomorrow it will be 7 weeks that Guacamelee released. :)
They really beat EA on this too. Those hungry for a more realistic golf game can now forget the fact that PGA Tour 2016 won't be out until early next year.

I can overlook the performance issues, considering this looks like a challenge and more like the real thing, unlike that awefully cheesy Powerstar Golf. On top of that, the create a course tool looks promising. But what really convinced me is Driftwoods's score of +32 after 18 holes in video #1 ;)

Judging by the videos, you did improve round by round. Will see tonight if I do any better but this looks like that holding back a little will bring success, just like real golf, at which I suck as well.

Thanks for the vids! But the aliasing seems to be really bad, or is it just me?

Anyway, looking forward to the PS4 release (and hoping it will be a little bit more polished).

The game needs a couple of million $ and another year of development to iron out the mentioned performance issues. Also the golfers themselves should be redone with proper motion capturing, then this for sure would be the golf reference. I enjoy it a lot, +5 on my first 18 holes on a medium difficulty course, so just slightly better than IRL. But it's really a game that only ppl interested in golf will be able to enjoy, no run&gun or button mashing to be found here.
The Greg Norman Golf course creator is amazing, I've spent more time on that than on the actual play.
Btw. chaning the v-snyc option in settings does help with the the scree tearing.
