Trailer PC PS4 Xbox One Xbox 360 PS3

Here comes an all-new gameplay trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, the upcoming game from Warner Bros. and Monolith Productions. The video gives us a look at the powers of the Wraith, whose identity was revealed in the previous Comic-Con trailer. The game will launch on Septepber 30 for PC, PlayStation 4, PS3, Xbox One and 360.

Talion and the Wraith:

After being slaughtered alongside his family at the Black Gate, Middle-earth™: Shadow of Mordor’s™ protagonist, Talion awakes as if from a long slumber and must put the pieces together as to why he has been denied the peace of death.

Talion realises he is inhabited by a mysterious Wraith, who is revealed to be Celebrimbor, the greatest Elven Smith of the Second Age. Celebrimbor was deceived by Sauron into working with him to forge the Rings of Power. After they made the Rings, Sauron betrayed and murdered Celebrimbor as well as his family in circumstances that mirror the death of Talion and his family. This connection unites the two heroes in their pursuit of the Dark Lord.

Who is Celebrimbor?

• One of the most powerful elves of the Second Age
• He was responsible for crafting the Rings of Power alongside Sauron
• Celebrimbor was murdered by Sauron. The spirits of the Elves are immortal within Middle-earth, so Celebrimbor chose not to return to the Undying Lands after he was killed
• Celebrimbor wants to destroy the Dark Lord; as Sauron does not have the One Ring, Celebrimbor can become powerful enough to challenge him within Mordor.
• The power of Celebrimbor, as the maker of the Rings, is very closely tied with the power of the Rings

i'm actually really looking forward to this. when it was first shown i thought it looked like an almost comically bad rip off of assasssin creed. but i like the different elements of it. and while it's still a bit of an assassins creed rip off...i think it's doing enough to differentiate itself.

This looks like what a Next Gen release of Legacy of Kain should have been like.

Wraith is like an improved copy of what Spectral Mode was in both the Soul Reaver games and Defiance.

I can see the "Soul Reaver" in it as far as lead character design, but as far as gameplay, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor looks like Assassin's Creed meets Batman Arkham City meets Witcher 3. (which is a great combination in my humble opinion).

I don't know about him but I like it because, first of all, it's a third person action adventure game. Second, it's set in Morder, Middle Earth. Then there's the fact that it is heavily influenced by games like Assassin's Creed and Arkham Asylum/City and adds on and/or improves upon that formula by adding the Wraith powers.

Plus, upgrading weapons, orc domination, nemesis system, etc. They're playing with some really interesting ideas here and if even one of them works, I think we can expect it to be a sequel spawning franchise and that is perfectly okay in my books.

If that doesn't get YOU excited, that's fine too. We all have our likes and dislikes. I, for one, am really looking forward to this because of the things I just mentioned.
