I have a feeling the actual "racing" is going to put GT5 to shame, obviously the physics wont be as good but if they cant get them pretty decent i have a feeling this is going to be one hell of a game.

it's a true testament to PD that every racing game is compared against it.
i dont see why GT is rated so highly, sure its super sim but as a game its dull as hell. there is nothing fun about it, its purely for car maniacs which is fine but that doesnt make it the best racing game

As a racing game, GT falls on it's face, imo. From janky AI to the car collisions being utter bunk, GT is a great driving game...
It's funny the amount of praise SHIFT 2 is getting when in the Sim racing community SHIFT is considered one of the worse sim racers available on console.
why is everyone so obsessed with racing games having 500 plus cars, does having way more cars make it less realistic and by saying that your assumption is that as GT5 has over 1000 therfore its not as realistic as TDU ???, i dont know why some people draw the amount of cars as a conclusion to determin whats a good racing game and whats a great racing game against a racing game with less than 100.
i also find it very amusing that everyone is so quick to constantly rubbish this game even before any beta testing or physical previews have been submitted by prfessional games testers, id rather wait to see just how well this game actualy plays rather than taking blind guesses about the physics or the handling of the cars, the camera view or the frame rate of the game till its near its public release date.
just 1 more thing GT5 was in production for over 5 years, is that not long enough to make the cars feel realistic enough ???.
A trust worthy preview, talks about handling, he answers questions in the talk back. If the handling is just good enough, this should be an exciting, visceral, racer.
The gfx are good, cars, tracks are also nice. But the gameplay looks bad. It is obvious in the videos and all the shaking of the camera doesn't help either .
This game looks fantastic. I can't wait to play it! I loved the first game. It was actually exciting unlike GT5, which isn't even a real sim. If you want a real sim, get a PC. Its funny how all these console gamers think GT5 is a real sim.
GT5 and Forza are GREAT racing games, they are all different all the same, GT in my opinion is easier of the 2... once you can keep the wheels off the grass and understand how to actually drive, in comparison to SHIFT they are by far better, SHIFT was and still is a great game but after playing much of GT5 for days straight and going back to SHIFT the steep uphill grind SHIFT starts you off at becomes a steep downhill and you realize that theres no real comparison to GT5 and Forza..... But SHIFT 2 looks extremely epic, the ideals of quality over quantity is where SHIFT 2 looks promising... GT5 forces you to use cars you dont give a rats arse about with bonus races for mega cash where as SHIFT 2 gives you what you want and cuts the crap, really looking forward to the release.
