Looks great and all, but for next year mean we wont be getting any gameplay footage anytime soon.

But I will wait for sure, the art reminds me of WoW a bit.

Can't say I'm particularly fond of the art style - I like my fantasy gritty and realistic, but this is far too cartoonish for me... almost to the extent whereby it's a complete turn off.

Still, with the talent on board this is bound to be one to watch out for.

What did he mean by that exactly?

It's not quite WoW cartoonish... Torchlight was my first impression.

Even Torchlight is cartoony.

I would go with Darksiders actually.

He was saying something about a middle-of-the-road game won't make it now-a-days. That games today that work are either AAA big budget, or low-budget Indie games. Basically what we all know already, lol. I call it a "middle" game because it doesn't look very special, but it might be Ok...

stylistically i already dont like it. it's not quite what i'd call cartoony (say, deathspank) but it isnt exactly gritty and realistic either. just sort of sits there in the middle looking completely "meh"

could be a good game tho, we'll see.

You should probably read up on who's involved in this before dismissing it as a "middle" game...

I think it's entirely because of the added fidelity. The grass is fucking identical beyond resolution, the game looks completely and entirely like WoW.
Which I honestly kinda like.
Also this has gotten some good word of mouth so I'm interested.

So because McFarline and Salvatore are involved automatically makes me care? I've never read Salvatore's stuff, but I know he's popular in High Fantasy circles so there might be an interesting story. Hardly guaranteed as being a good novel writer doesn't always equal good game writing.
McFarline makes good toys, but has yet to make anything worth talking about on the game front. I've never been a fan of his artistic style- Having that Capullo(?) guy take over drawing spawn forever-ago was a boon to the comic. Of course, I stopped paying attention to Spawn when I was in high-school...
