Nice graphics, scenery and premise. But has there been any proper gameplay footage out yet? Because the previous Witcher games all had shitty combat. Not shittier than 99% other action-RPGs but shitty all the same.

LOL yup.
I need combat gameplay to see if they have done anything improved from witcher 2, if i dont see it that much then i wont bother with it.

This game is supposed to push the PS4 and Xbox One to the max limits of the hardware. This I gotta see.

Damn sexy looking game! Next gen is flexing their muscles earlier than expected (I was thinking this would occur by year two).

yeah, i don't like that either. it's almost like the textures are TOO high res...or like the image has gone through about 12 passes of photoshop sharpen filter. looks messy, noisy and generally quite shit. which is a shame becasue i know there is a nice looking game under there.

I agree with you as well. You know, this makes me appreciate Dragon's Dogma even more - damn fine combat system for an action-RPG.

im not seeing anything that WOW tbh and if the combat and gameplay is like the other games i wont be getting it

and i certainly dont think this game will be pushing the ps4 to its limits deffo the xbox one but not the ps4

yes the game looks ok but more can be done, we all know 2 years time this game will not look so great compared to other games that will be out at that time

That is said about 99.9% of every game at any point of the generation that gets released.

There is something very Assassins Creed: BF about how this looks. That game had a very grainy look due to the textures being too sharp, or the mips being too detailed at a certain distance. This is exactly the same kind of effect here. It probably looks impressive in motion, but otherwise I think it looks OK. No better or worse than other so called next gen games so far. Nice atmosphere, though.

Some of that is post processing. I think it looks fine in motion, but I know some people disabled it in The Witcher 2. It's nice to be able to do such things ;)

Yea, the textures in these shots look too crisp & sharp. Like there needs to be more depth effects or atmospheric perspective or something.

Probably because he thinks their sharpening filter is the Xbox's sharpening scaler. It's not though.

Yeah...
The only games that are going to max any limits on either console are exclusives, years from now.

It looks alright, nothing too spectacular. Looks like something that could easily be done using the Source engine perhaps, like Dark Messiah.

No doubt you'll be asked to do a lecture at Siggraph this year on how you made a 8 year old engine look like a 2014 system wrecker. This should mean a huge leap in technology.

Or the far more likely scenario; you are talking out of your ass.

lol Silly boy, what engine do you think titanfall runs on?! (that the xbone struggles to run beyond 720p, pathetic)

I'll also invite you to come along, all expenses paid, to explain why it can't be done using the source engine. :P

I haven't seen a single graphical effect in any of those screens that can't be done using the source engine. now i'm off to work. ttyl

lol Silly boy right back at you. If you think Source from 2006 that ran Dark Messiah is the same as the one running Titan Fall then you are sorely mistaken. Is UE2 and UE4 the same engine too? The engine evolves over time, features get added, new technology incorporated.

Oh you're quick. The basic code is the same. I remeber when HDR lighting was added to it with the Lost Coast demo, you are right, engines do evolve, and that's why I was surprised to hear you say "on how you made a 8 year old engine look like a 2014 system wrecker." I thought you didn't know about engines evolving. Oh and to address my mention of Dark Messiah, the DM I played when it first came out is completely different to the modded DM I play now, again due to the VERY SAME Source Engine evolving... ta
One of the major reasons I'm an avid PC gamer, no backwards compatibility problems and great Mods that breathe new life into games like GTA4, Skyrim, HL2 etc etc

Oh and let us make one thing abundantly clear, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SOURCE ENGINE 2! I don't want you confusing it with the likes of a change from Unreal 2 to Unreal 4 for instance. The same engine that powers HL2 powers Titanfall, buttomline.

If you're a PC gamer then you should know that even Witcher 2 looks a hell lot better on PC than those Titanfall screenshots. The screenshots (of The Witcher 3) indeed look a bit too sharp, but I'm pretty sure that's something we'll be able to adjust.
