Hallelujah! Bethesda finally released three new images of its highly anticipated RPG, The Elders Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Needless to say, it's simply beautiful.
looking at these screens i dont see what all the hype is about, the enviroment is average at best and that guy looks like dale winton or david dickinson with shabby looking hair.

Nothing special about this game. Not next-gen at all.
It's Elderscrolls. It's about gameplay, not graphics. What is next gen to you people anyways? Put this next to any XBox, PS2, or Gamecube game and tell me that it doesn't hold up.
I can't believe it! People are still complaining! The Oblivion gameplay (Alone) definitively worth the next-gen mention. And with graphics that beatiful for a such giant sand box... . If that's not next-gen I wonder what the hell next-gen means!
Hmmm, I must say those are the worst screens I've seen so far from the game....not that they are ugly, far from it of course, but they lack the jaw-drop-effect most of the previously released shots had. Anyway, not much longer and the speculating will end i guess.
I have to agree that they're not that impressive. Definitely not like what was shown way back when. Though I think that guy's face looks fine; very realistic.
Looking at those shots just doesn't seem to jibe with the quotes from all the "big" game mags in their print ad saying "quite simply, the best looking game I've ever seen" and "jaw-dropping", etc. Textures look bad, water looks bad, terrain looks flat and angular, etc.
Probably still a sweet game. They should definitely thank god for that tree "growing" middleware, because at this point the forests are far and away the best looking part of the game.
