I agree. I mean common what the hell is that snowy mountain chunk on the background? How many polygons did they uses 5? or maybe 4 hehe. Characters look ok though
I kinda noticed another thing now too. The texture work is shit all over. It's all normal maps. Seems to be a skill that's kinda starting to die out. Hand painted textures are giving way to just baking maps instead. It's a shame really. This would looks great if they had better diffuse maps.
Same texture work and level of map/world detail was in "Hunted The Demons Forge" for this you can only blame consoles limited ram capacity ... or they crappy programing [engine] capabilities ... hey if you can't figure out how to stream this on a console with higher polygon count in 30 fps then GO FOR LOW POLY COUNT ... if not you get a disaster that was "AMY" or original "Hydrophobia" [that was later re-released as ... Hydrophobia: Prophecy a finally fixed stable working playable version]
as for myself this game looks OK , hey i sense they where inspired by Warcraft Adventure a game that didn't saw the light of day
oh and speaking about graphics fidelity they only thing that BUGS ME on those screen shots are AWFUL ALASING JAGGIES that are only on textures and models that are in some graphical effect ... heh guess they use blur to soften those edges
