Developer Diary PC Xbox 360 PS3

Codemasters released this first Dev Diary of Operation Flashpoint: Red River, a sequel that will hopefully improve the 2009 installment in every department. The graphics engine seems to have been put to much better use here, and the developers are working hard on making gameplay more appealing and less buggy.

Gonna need an excellent demo to convince me they have fixed everything that was wrong with OFPDR.

Yeah me too. I loved OFP on the PC but Dragon Rising was one big dissappointment.

Definitely need a demo. Dragon Rising was the biggest disappointment I playing on the 360.

Too many bugs. I'm surprised it was released in the state that it was.

I remember finallly getting to level 5, I died and got taken back to a checkpoint on Level 2 WTF ?!!

Agreed on all accounts. I loved the original OFP, and was sooo looking forward to Dragon Rising, and then they released that f'ing train wreck that was buggy as hell and failed to deliver on every promise. I won't even consider renting this one without a demo that impresses the hell out of me.

Honestly, RR isn't looking very promising either. All they had to do was deliver what they promised for Dragon Rising and improve the bugginess and graphics. I'm not even sure why they are calling this Operation Flashpoint anymore. OFP is supposed to be a life and death, tactical, military sim with multiple tactics, vehicles and variety. This seems to be just another MOH/COD/BF:BC style, shooter that is based around a group of soldier buddies with a semi open battleground. Not sure what is up with the graphics either, but they just look off. The guns look like they really lack any punch as well. I've pretty much given up any hope for getting a good military sim on consoles. Maybe it's finally time to upgrade the PC to play ARMA II...
