Looks decent. I'm not blown away, though. Want to see more gameplay; it looks like they're still have framerate problems.

Overall it's pretty good. The only thing I would like to bitch about at the moment is the movement animation of the characters.... looks a bit iffy...

This does not impress me at all. The real OpF2 developed by Bohemia Interactive, now named Arma 2, looks much better than this. I mean this is miles away from those so called ingame screens they released the other day.

They both have horrible animation though... Environments and models are all ok but the animation is just plain horrible.

Agreed. It's like the animations in Fallout 3: wooden and unrealistic.

Deferred rendering is nice, that will put Op Flash 2's engine over Arma2's... I don't think Arma2 has muzzle flares at all when looking at the video on their own site, and the weapons don't seem visually right at all.

Arma1 was a buggy mess, so I expect this one to be a better playing game. Also, we have yet to see how Arma2 runs on consoles, this video looks like 360 or PS3 footage.

Face models also look better in this one, for what it's worth.

well killzone 2's standing as best looking console game doesnt look like its going to last the year. Can only be a good thing for graphics whore gamers like myself. Also helps that the first OF was a great game.

Also, Arma2..has that been confirmed for consoles yet?

I am not sure what you are on about, bleachedsmiles, but imo this has nothing on KZ2 in the graphics department. Not by a long shot.

I am still looking forward to it for the open environments and the (hopefully) simulation aspects.

Yea as I said before, although they've defined it as 'next generation consoles'.

I don't think this looks better than KZ2, but this one has bigger environs.

A lot of engines do most of the stuff this one does, GTA4 supposedly also uses deferred rendering (and it shows, at least sometimes), and has similar time of day universal shadow buffers, and a big open world environment.

textures their on mark, size their on mark, the weapons are on mark, the Animations for the people have totally killed it for me they need to fix it their top of the bodies dont move realistically AT ALL this needs to be fixed.... the body movement are what make things realistic... they need to play some other games to see proper body animations. i love the environments and the weapons that i saw and even the movement of the weapons though i wish they wud add a bit of momentum when turning how kz did

looks pretty good, they seriously need to fix a few things tho, primerily the terrible LOD and animations. it's impressive in the same way crysis is impressive, although not particularly interesting imo

One may just hope that they fix the animations before the release. Seriously, with all the work that they have put down in creating the environment they could at least put down a couple of additional hours on some proper animations that doesn't look like something made in the nineties.

This looks better than ArmA2. But I didn't really care for the first ArmA game.

I was gonna say something about how the animations kill the realism and immersion, but I came a little late to that particular party. Let's not compare this to killzone, coo? Both trying to do TOTALLY different things, scale uppermost on that list( not to mention killzone has fixed environs and lighting schemes that make it easier to get specific, impressive lighting scenarios). I doubt the Killzone engine would look so smokin' on that scale...

This would have looked good if Far Cry 2 hadn't come along before it. Not a ten-pinter though, by any means.

Far Cry 2 is a realistic military sim?

As long as they get the gameplay and the AI right I couldn't give a fiddlers fart about the graphics and animation. There's just something about flying in low over the sea in a little bird with 6 of your mates, getting dropped off, traveling a few kilometers on foot slipping past a tank and some armored patrols, sneaking into an enemy base and rigging a telecommunications tower to blow and then getting your sniper mate to take out the enemy commander just as your spec ops blow the tower when you've all sneaked out and up onto a vantage point and then getting the hell outta there to the extraction point when the enemy sends a KA-50 or a Hind-d up to look for you.

That's how Armed assault can play out on the PC with the right people on your team and if they can capture that on the 360 then they're onto a winner.

Ah, but what if said little bird handled like a car, and didn't move like a helicopter would? It would take you out of the experience pretty effectively. That's the point. Poor animation and unrealistic visuals can go a long way to remove the suspension of disbelief...

I think that line there about covers it. All I'll say is that if it's even fit enough to shine the original operation flashpoints boots then it'll be good enough for me.
