GSY Video PC PS4 Xbox One

Hitman 2 will be playable for all those who purchased the Gold Edition tomorrow, but we have been able to complete the main story in time for the end of the embargo. For different reasons, we haven't been able to translate our verdict, so all we have for you today is a bunch of videos of the Xbox One X version. As you'll see, performance isn't great in both graphics modes on Xbox One X, but the PC version we have had access to wasn't too good either in our experience (we don't know if there will be drivers for the game this week but we had to play with the 416.34 drivers which were released on 10/11/2018).

Playing this round a friend's (base PS4) and the old maps look quite a bit different. Texture res is vastly improved throughout. But some effects are a bit worse (some funky lighting issues in Paris for instance). Lighting in sapienza for doesn't feel as bright or sunny but overall has a lot more depth. It's honestly hard to say which I prefer. But I do like the gameplay additions to the old maps (long grass and reflective mirrors)

Have you played the GOTY edition? I never did, but there was lighting changes in that and complaints over it on the official forums. Specifically that Sapienza had become too saturated.

Yeah. Played all forms of the game over the last couple years. It looks almost overcast now. Not the sunny Italian villa they were going for I don't think. It's quite weird how different it looks to the original (or the latest version of the original) it definitely looks better before on the whole. But if you break it down Into its component parts a lot of things are better. Like textures and AO and foliage etc. I find it weird they changed things at all tbh. AI doesn't seem as consistent on the old maps either regarding the new features. So the tall grass doesn't seem to hide you as well in the original maps as it does in the new hitman 2 maps ?!

On the plus side, if you care about this sort of thing, all the original maps count as new trophies. Because you'll need to master the old maps again of you want all the unlocks since they don't transfer over without you achieving them all over again. Same is true for the sniper map.
