Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

GRID 2 is now available in USA (and later this week in Europe), thus we offer you some videos of the PC version in 1080p and 60 frames per second.
Update: Added 4 more videos.

The driving experience with a Logitech G27 wheel are very good, between arcade and simulation. Driving model is far from the first GRID game to be closer to DiRT 3.

Note: the slowdowns in the Paris video are due to the Fraps capture.

Hardware used to capture these videos:
- Intel i7 2700K @ 4.7 GHz
- 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz
- 2x NVIDIA GTX 680 SLI
Capture software: Fraps

Hi Miguel,
How come Gamersyde's 1080p 60fps videos never play on a PS3 smoothly? Is it because of the high bitrate or it just can't read the data off the PS3 hard drive fast enough to keep the video running smooth? I always want to show off your PC gameplay videos but they never seem to work on a PS3 and it is the only closest thing connected to a big TV that can also store the video too :(

I think it's the CPU/GPU having trouble decoding the video, here we have 35mbps videos, so the HDD have to read about 3 to 5 MB per second, it's nothing to it.

We had some even higher bitrates some weeks ago (Bioshock Infinite PC), but we lowered it a bit because too much members could not read it properly, and a too high bitrate makes too heavy or shorter files.

35mbps is still a really good quality and above most of the websites, if not all :)

My bad, copy/paste from the French version and forgot to change the "Go" to "GB", so yes, 4x4 GB :)

WHY YOU NO CHANGE THE VIEW? : )

Seriously, always the hood cam in every video. Why not try changing the camera every a while, so we can get a better idea of the game.

This would be something better for gamersyde, for a full video preview and more professional. Just my opinion, if you prefer to play with the hood camera, then go for it. But for a better preview of the game, better to show them all and vary, give variation to the videos. Or do a video of the dash cam only, then another of the outside cam, and so on. Just my tip to do it better. We can all do it better : )

Because external views while playing with a wheel are quite unusable (in most games), sorry, I tried but as I couldn't race well and hit the walls too much, I restarted and went back to the hood cam.

I think I'll do a video in Barcelona and another one tonight, I'll play with the pad and external view :)

Fuck the tips. Everyone prefer different style of gameplay and so different cams. Videos are good.

Great videos Miguel, thanks!

However, something just isn't clicking with me on this. Can't put my finger on it, but it's just not floating my boat at al (and I really like driving games!). If there's a demo I'll give it a spin.

I'm really not seeing what all the hubbub was about this game, visually speaking. There were numerous previews talking about how amazing the game looks and then codemasters came out and made all that fuss about this game really taking advantage of modern day PCs. I'm just not seeing it. Just look at the California video. HORRENDOUS looking water effect in the ocean. Low quality ground texture work. Low quality livery texture work. whenever an opponent is shown through the windows of the player car their shadows totally disappear. Fancy lighting can't hide all the flaws. Something tells me this game would run at 60fps on a machine of significantly less potential than the one that captured these vids...

In the next few months, NVIDIA will release ShadowPlay, which will hopefully (probably) be more efficient than anything else to capture video, and those slowdowns would disappear. http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/geforce-...

It's the best looking racing game to date by quite some margin, but is still obviously made to also run on consoles. It's as good as you're going to get until games targeted at next-gen consoles come out.

It is understandable that playing with a wheel is more suitable with the hood cam too.

It is nice to see the 3rd person camera angle.

It allows us to see the car models, reflections, etc. an important part of the game.

Thanks for following the tip.

After watching gamersyde since almost the beginning, when it was on construction, it is nice to see this kind of response.

Now I'm downloading some of the others videos to check the game better.

The last need for speed game has better texture work than this. Project Cars has better models. There are numerous current titles that look better than this game. And it's not just that the game doesn't look perfect. It's that codemasters was ranting and raving about the game being the crysis of racing games. And that certain publications(I'm sure now paid off) were mirroring their enthusiasm. It just doesn't match the self made hype.

^^ I agree, Online is awful...The game is FAR to fast. Shit cars like the Golf feel much faster than a F1 car in GT5!!!! The sense of speed has turned it into a twitch racer.
