GSY Video PC PS4 Xbox One

Here are four videos from the PS4 version of Mad Max. Although we haven't had much time to play the game, the few hours we spent in the Australian desert have been fun so far. We haven't seen any of the massive frame drops some people were mentioning on the web, so as far as we can tell, Avalanche did a good job. If you have run into problems, don't hesitate to share in the comments.

When I saw the first announcement of this...I was like....hmmm...ok, not interested. But they really worked their asses off on this one and it looks great. I'm not much into Mad Max universe, but this game is nice!

It's your default open world game. Not bad but not very good either. The last few years we've seen dozens of these games. The game fits right in with the Far Cry, Batman and Assassins Creed sequels that come out each year. Lots of the same mechanics build around an average story.

got this game the other day its brilliant, so much great stuff in it, the combat is great, the car driving is so cool taking on the bandits of the wasteland, there is so much cool little mechanic things in the game also that makes it cool to play

been enjoying this and MGS V

to be honst the only people that will not like this are people that need there hands held through 8 hr corridor yellow brick road game....

open world games have always in my eyes been about you building on the story with your own adventures and imagination, why so many people think game like this are boring or the story is weak...

Repetative objectives and game systems don't have anything to do with the things you mentioned though?

please DO tell me what games are not repetative?
all of them are to an extent. but open world games are repetition over the span of 50+ hours, which is far more detrimental to the experience then feeling like an 8 hour game was getting a bit repetitive after the 7.5 hour mark.

in MGS in particular you can't create new means to take on old situations because it takes too long to build up the necessary department level and materials/funds. 15 hours before you get a loud firing tranq sniper is bad enough. 20+ hours for a silenced lethal sniper is insanity and i'm yet to even get to a point where i can make a silenced tranq rifle...

and then on top of that it's got far cry 2 syndrome. were they re-use locations over and over and over and over and....you get the picture. this in itself doesn't make for varied situations. having to extract a guard with a specific skill from base A isn't really all that different from having to extract a prisoner from base A...and then all the bases are relatively similar in themselves, so extracting a prisoner or guard from base A isn't different enough from extracting them from base B or C or D. and the introduction of Africa changes NOTHING. it's a colour pallet swap and that's it.

now, if you took the first 10 hours of missions and put them into a linearly progressed game, you wouldn't notice the repetition. but spread out over an open world with countless hours spent riding a damn horse. over the span of what could end up being a 100 hour game...that's far more noticeable.

mad max might come across as too similar to the tired assassins creed approach to open world. but MGSV fails at basic open world design. but i'm glad to hear you're enjoying it.

And thats why i decided not to get MGS5.
It has "fake" open world of emptyness and uses that word to create "next gen" MGS buzz, which i didnt fall for.

Interms of Mad Max, i loved Fury Road MOVIE, but as a game i just find it meh, nothing in the videos outside some Fury Road music in the background and those nice sandstorm gets me riled up tbh. And since i am not a fan of vehicle driving focused games, obviously Mad Max isnt for me.

6 hours in now and I've been enjoying this game very much sofar.. Like others here already said, it fits right in with games like Far Cry and Assassins Creed etc, which for me is a good thing because I like those games.. Game looks and runs very well on PC and the gameplay, especially the fighting, is very satisfying.. I love the gritty Mad Max setting..
