Video PC PS4 Xbox One

It's fair to say that there isn't much to report these days, so I'm happy to have something new to post for a change. Here are a few videos of Assassin's Creed Unity's first solo DLC, named Dead Kings where Arno will visit the rather gloomy Saint-Denis, both above and under ground. And since it's free, it's well worth giving it a try!
Videos from the Xbox One version.
Update: Added some images and the launch trailer.

I was so excited for this game, earlier last year...but it disappointed the hell out of me. It felt like I was engaged to be married to the girl of my dreams, only to walk in on her having a gang-bang with 7 obese midgets. Yelp.

^That sucks. My favorite AC game so far, and i've played them all.

Blim--is that small section in the first video the only accessible area in this DLC? I noticed it looked like there were other towns outside of the one you're in. Can you go to the smaller areas around st. denis? Or is that just it, with a bunch of underground areas?

I've poured in a few more hours of Unity over the last couple of days and I'm starting to enjoy it a bit more.

Couple things...
1) The graphics, namely the lighting and cloth textures, are unmatched. Simply stunning (playing on xb1)
2) There is WAY too much side shit to do, the map is an absolute clusterfuck of biblical proportions. They need to cut out about half of that crap. Simply finding the next story quest can sometimes be difficult if you haven't cleared out the 400 side quests smothering your map.
3) The coop/mobile/uplay specific chests/missions/etc. is disgusting. Ubisoft gonna Ubisoft though I guess.
4) The story so far seems pretty uninteresting... hopefully some crazy stuff starts happening or I'm gonna lose interest

I'm curious if this DLC addon is any good... are there reviews for it yet?

There are no seeders and thus no traffic on the torrent of the first video (the others I haven't checked yet). My client showed more than 10 leechers waiting for data, though, so it looks like it's not a connection problem on my end.

Despite still some technical issues (game sometimes freezes then continues on my PC, other then that runs fine) and somewhat unresponsive controls sometimes I really enjoy AC Unity.. Will get this DLC for sure after I finish the main game first..

Wish that DLC like this was always free, especially on big AAA games I think they already make plenty of money from selling the main game.. But the "funny" thing is, the more popular the game the more expensive the DLC.. Shows you where the main priority lies for these companies.. But at least Ubisoft showed some soul in this case, although they really had to after the technical disastrous launch of AC Unity..

1) If you think it looks good on the Xbox One wait until you see it on a highend PC.. The game looks insane.. I've watched a lot of video's of PS4 and Xbox version on Youtube and can compare it to my own experience on my PC.. Believe me, it looks a lot better, especially in texturequality etc there's a big difference.. Far Cry 4 was looking very good, but Unity goes over the top of it.. Sometimes it just looks real, especially the details on buildings etc.. Popin on NPC's etc sucks though, they really need to optimize that a lot better in the future..

2) I do not agree with to much to do in the game.. You can filter out the missions on the map and you do not have to play everything to get thru the game.. I like there's a lot of stuff to do in games like this..

3) About the coop and Companion stuff I have mixed feelings.. I do not mind to have to play co-op to unlock certain things, but I agree it sucks you have to play clubcompetitions too.. About the companion stuff.. I use it on my iPad, I kindof like it.. But it's not something I would miss if it was not in the game, and yes it kindof sucks you miss the extra unlocks if you cannot use it.. Ubisoft is maybe pushing innovations like this a bit to hard.. But at least give them some credit for trying it, especially when they do not charge extra for it..

4) I also like the main story and will certainly get this DLC after I finish the main game.. Going back to it right now, bye bye!!

I just beat the game. According to the progress bar im at 80%. I think the best part of ac:unity, other than the visuals, is the main storyline missions. Typically the end of each sequence has you assassinate someone in a huge sandbox style environment. Those missions really allow you to play however you want and it feels just as rewarding when you make it to the end. & the replayability is insane with how many different way you can fo about those missions. I played completing the given objectives while beating each level. All story levels are really fun in general albeit not really knowing the story.

Another thing, I haven't play a creed game since 2. Ive managed to utilize all the items/weapons in my arsenal (smoke/stun/poison/cherry bombs, beserk/phantom/pistol guns) but can't seem to find any opportunitiea to use the gold pouch. Anyone else actually find themselves using that in their missions?

Since the DLC is free i'm not too concerned over reviews, it all contributes to the existing game. more missions to play, which is great.

From my gaming experience (PC) the graphics are some of the best out there. you'll be hard pressed to find a linear game of equal visuals, much less from a sandbox game. the skin and hair quality is crazy, individual hair stands and skin pores.

Takes you back to the speculative days of E3 05, before ps3 and xbox 360. my only complaint for ACU is the performance optimization. I hope they continue to support this game with more updates. the work that was put into it is fantastic.

Intel Core i7 4770k @ 4.5Ghz, 2x AMD R9 290 4GB. AIO water coolers for each gpu (on NZXT Kraken G10 brackets), 2x 120mm rads for the gpus, 1x 240mm rad for the cpu. 8GB DDR3 2400, 128GB SSD + 3x1TB HDDs.

Performance goes back and forth from 30-60 at 1440p, sustains 60 fps for the most part at 1080p (ultra). I still strongly recommend that Ubisoft keep fixing this game though, they've done great work on the lighting and character detail.

Ehm, the cutscenes are pre-rendered (like Uncharted games for example) compared to actual in-game gameplay graphics so they automatically looks great and different.
But interms of in-game graphics (outside cutscenes like that) i seriously dont think it looks all that.

Well they look very "enhanced/different" compared to the gameplay visuals i been seeing. Alot of games do this anyways so i am not surprised this wouldnt be any different.

Character quality shifts in this game based on angles and POV, in the PC version you can set this to ultra. Of course this detail only effects main characters. Lighting is also dynamic and changes based on clouds and time of day.

characters models for cutscenes arent used during gameplay. theres an order of magnitude difference in quality. environments are identical tho.
