Many people have been criticizing the latest installment in the Hitman franchise for different reasons, so they were probably very impatient to get their hands on Hitman HD Trilogy, the collection regrouping Hitman 2, Hitman Contracts, Hitman Blood Money and a code to download the Hitman Sniper Challenge of Absolution. We have captured a few videos of the PS3 version, so get ready to go back in time.
Some things are usually better left in the past. Hitman 2 and Hitman Contracts may have been very good games, but they have aged, not only technically, but also gameplay-wise. Those of you complaining about the disguise system are in for a big surprise when they get shot without even knowing why, even though Agent 47's face is completely hidden under a hood. Disguise yourself as a bodyguard in the Italian mansion of the second episode, and you'll be spotted the minute you walk past another guard. It might make sense that they all recognize each other but as there is no feedback, you're basically left crossing your fingers hoping your cover will hold.
Gameplay has gotten very awkward, especially the clunky controls of Hitman 2, so we doubt many will have the patience to endure the many failed attempts you are bound to experience. The Hitman series has always been more a puzzle game than anything else, so patience has always been part of the fun. But a decade later, we must say we grew tired quite rapidly. There is however tons of content here, with a total of 40 missions, many of which are quite memorable. The presence of Blood Money can also justify a purchase if you are a PS3 owner, since the game was never released in HD before.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Getting shot at while you're in disguise for no apparent reason, whether or not your face is hidden, there sure is a lot of sense in that. :)

Check ign's video review for other examples, it's completely broken.

from the vids concerning the Blood money version looks like they ported PS2 version of the game ? can you confirm this ? or are all the games ports from PS2 ?
P.S. Remember finishing every level in Contracts and getting Silent assassin, nice memories :)
I think the game would be ridiculously easy if you could just throw on a cop uniform and waltz around without anyone giving a crap. You can still use the instinct to fool them, along with keeping your distance. The only thing I would change would be to make the line of sight range a little further out...
Also it is great to note that the ports were done by IO Interactive themselves and not handed over to complete morons like with the Silent Hill Collection (lol people were screaming for the first Silent Hill game in that collection so bad, I'm glad they didn't butcher it too) :)
