First 10 minutes PS3

As you probably know, The Jak & Daxter Trilogy has already been released in North America for a little while, but it will only ship in Europe this week. To give you a pretty good idea of what to expect, here are a bunch of videos of the three titles. Though the first episode remains our favorite of the lot, these are three good platform games you should check out, whether it's out of nostalgia or because you missed them when they were released back then.

Huh? I got my euro version of this game like 4 weeks ago. Or is this for the various dubbed versions or something?

Maybe it's just been delayed here in France then. I figured it was all Europe.

I absolutely LOVED the first one, my fave 3D platformer by a mile. And i can't wait to replay it. As for others. 2 was a ratchet and clank/GTA wanabe, and the 3rd was decent with easily the best story. Depending on what comes from lovefilm. I'll either rent it or buy it cheap.

Jak and Daxter -> Uncharted imo. Shame we won't get new game anymore - people want only shooters nowadays.

Jak has been too inconsistent imo. So uncharted is the better series to me. Jak 2 just massively let that series down. It was awful. Largely thanks to what you just mentioned...they turned it into a shooter...a half assed one at that.

The 1st ones music is okay, one or 2 good tunes, the 2nd one had great tunes and again the 3rd one's were okay. You wouldn't believe how much of the 2nd game you can play without getting on a vehicle or shooting a gun. Jak has all his original attacks so whats the problem? The cut-scenes get better with each game. My god they look like Pixar detailed faces and animations by the 2nd game.
I had a friend who thought the exact same thing as yous until I made him sit down and play the 3 games. He was gobsmacked with the story and unbelievable engine of 2 after thinking in his head for the past 8 years that it "massively let that series down". *Spoiler* The 3rd one best story? Yeah Erol being the main antagonist made sense, sure. They should have brought Gol and Maia back in the 3rd one, the story could have been that they were still in the Dark Eco Silos and its somewhere in Haven city still. That would have been awesome.
The problem with Uncharted is that it wasn't an evolution for Naughty Dog. Its just Jak but without the open worldness, imagine going forward in Jak, jumping off a ledge and never ever being able to go back up, that's Uncharted.

To you maybe, to me it was probably the worst game from naughty dog...period. Hated what it became after the AMAZING first game. It was the equivilent of the changes between mario 64 and mario sunshine. Only imagine arbitrarily throwing in car jacking and guns into mario sunshine...meh. Just felt like they where chasing the success of GTA. Ratchet and clank did the shooter platformer in a far more competent way imo, jak was best when it was a pure, collection-centric traditional platformer. And sadly, of the avaliable jak titles, only one of them fits that description...the precursor legecy. Granted it had the worst story of the bunch, but by far the best gameplay. It's the one i'm the most eager to replay.

Bought them but never got round to playing parts 2 & 3. The original though was fantastic. Easily as good as Mario 64 in my opinion.

As far as I know, they run more or less at 60 fps, at least it looks as if they do. Now we never speed up the framerate on our videos. No matter what is indicated, a 30 fps game will not be sped up, even though we encode them at 60 fps (to avoid frame losses or emphasized screen tearing effects). The method we use does not affect the final rendering of the game in the end. So basically, what you see is what you get. Not sure I'm clear, but I'm not the tech guy here. :)

edit: Looking at these vids, the jump in visual fidelity from Jak 1 to Jak 2 and 3 is really amazing. Naughty Dogs had some amazing programmers back in the day

I define it as a good platformer with the quality of GTA series. I was sure that they will do a sequel, but no. Only the egg was inserted into the Uncharted to tease.

I think the series is dead, these cartoony platformers just don't sell anymore. They died with the PS2

yeah the cartoony style is not as appealing anymore but still its super convenient to be able to re-play these classics on HD in the new consoles. Beyond Good and Evil HD, Banjo 1 & 2 on xbla, Dreamcast collection, now this I just lov'em all.
