First 10 minutes PC Xbox 360 PS3

Ridge Racer Unbounded may not be a true Ridge Racer game per se but its family ties with such great titles as Burnout, Split/Second and Trackmania makes it a very good arcade racer. Much like Shift when it was first released, Unbounded probably could do without the famous name that has been assigned to it, but it will probably be the case sooner or later. For now, this new vision of the series is one we like even more than the old one, mind you. That being said, you should be warned that Bugbear's title sometimes is frustratingly difficult, at least in Domination races. That being said, it is also interestingly challenging, which is of course a good thing. Check out all our videos to see what we mean.
Note: The "Boulet Time" video is actually a track we created with the editor included in Unbounded, a very nice addition.
Update :Added videos from PC version.

All these years I assumed that boulet time was supposed to be like a french-sounding version of bullet time. But I just looked it up and boulet isn't bullet at all. So what does it mean exactly?

Oh yeah, Riiiiiiiidge Racerrrr.

A boulet is a burden so it's really a paly on words, a bad one maybe but one nonetheless.

Yes indeed. :)

The only problem here is that it's impossible to understand for English-speaking people. ^^

Is there a lack of sense of speed in this game? The gameplay video's look really slow.

Looks very slow Burnout Clone. Anyone heard of a new TRUE Burnout coming?
I wish they would made a Burnout like the 2. or Revenge. Speed, Speed and Speed and not that damn open world fuck. :) what are you say?

It's great so far. Although there is absolutely no settings to tweak for graphics. So that's a bummer. At least it runs nice and loading times are quite fast (1-3sec).

Is the game as slow as these video's suggest? Seems to be no difference from 150kph to 220kph

Nice. I think I'll wait for the price to drop a bit, but it looks fun.

First cars have rating 1/5 for speed so I guess it's getting a bit faster with better cars. I have only completed the first 2 set of events.

I really like the light effects... reminds me of Wreckless, the car tech demo for the OG Xbox. Not the shitty ps2 downgraded port.

This game is really fun. Split/Second was good, but somehow I like this more. Over the top physics just enhance the fun factor. Surprisingly though too. Way superior arcade racer than any of the other Ridge Racers in this gen. So in a way this brings the Ridge Racer franchise back to the map, despite being so fundamentally different from the generic Namco efforts of the recent years.

...all hail praise and glory to Sega's Outrun 2 back in 2003 - for it was the only true old school come back! sorry namco but this game even though it looks cool it is not ridge racer! There is nothing ridge racer about it. I understand their approach trying to get a bit outside the Japan market but still ...this is not ridge racer lol they should have just given it a different name.

please try to undersand but this game is not an old school come back its more of a rebirth, the ridge racer series of games has become quite stale recently and needed what bugbear have provided, if some of you cant handle the fact that the old ridge racer games are lets be honest quite boring and repetative and presented nothing new you seriously ned to get a grip and wake up to reality, namco obviously approached bugbear and asked for their help with the new game.

obviously arcade racers like mario kart will keep the same formula becasue they are popular however other arcade racers that also keep the same formula have become boring slug fests that most will never try to completeaka ridge racer, it might have been better on the ps1 but since the ps2 people wanting or rushing out to get the latest ridge racer has significantly declined and as a result this is why namco has moved in this direction, like it or not you are a minority of people who dont like the new ridge racer vs the hords of new fans that like the new ridge racer, just accept its here and move on.

Obviously you miss read the what I said that Ridge Racer Unbounded looks like a COOL GAME lol. All I said is that it looks nothing like the old ones.

..But somehow you decided to take this completely OUT OF CONTEXT and assume that I prefer the old Ridge Racer better?
I was only expressing my thoughts that this game should have a different title but it does not mean that I don't like this new game - but you decided to place me on this "minority" crowd (LOL AGAIN).

Personally I don't give a shit about any old school Ridge Racer game cause I never bought them. Ridge Racer was an arcade game and back in the day I was one of those that instead of PSX I was down in the Arcades spending a fortune of COINS in Namco's Ridge Racer original arcade wheel. That is why I said that only outrun was a great comeback cause they manage to make it interesting instead of the stale RR6 on 360 and RR7 on PS3.

So to summarise we both saying that old Ridge Racer is no good anymore - and we're both saying that this game looks nothing like the old ones - so just because I spoke about the title you are now telling me to move on?
...instead why don't you read my post a bit more thorough next time.

at least they didn't call it "Ridge Racer"; it actually has the title Unbounded (attached) to it, so you can differentiate it from previous titles, without warehouses accidentally sending you the wrong copy from 17 years ago.

Yeah, I wouldn't complain, just politely ask them to help me get it to the downstairs before they leave ;)

Back in the day I was a pretty big defensive fanboy though, and would have kicked that machine over, laughing, while strutting over to play some Daytona.

you should have seen the setup in london befor sega world was created back in the 90's, i used to have so much fun playing on the vast amount of arcade machines including ridge racer on a 7 foot wide projection screen using a real car (cant remember what car it was, probably a honda spoon or s2000)
