First 10 minutes PC PS4 Xbox One

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is already available in North America and it is about to be released in Europe. How about we show you some 1080p gameplay footage now? The version we were sent is the PS4 version but we might have some X1 footage in the days to come if the guys at Xbox have a spare code for us. No real spoilers here since it's just the very beginning of the adventure, so take a peek!

I'd be impressed it were.. the PS4 version looks pretty solid visually.. and the game requires a lot of power to play at 1080p/60fps on the PC. It's not even the best looking game, but it is fairly taxing. It looks better in person obviously, but the environments are pretty drab.

More like 30-40 fps. Whoever is claiming this game is 60 fps is nuts, not even close.

Maybe they'll patch it to 60fps, but right now its not at all.

Anyways still an awesome game, irrespective.

We don't have tools to measure that precisely so I don't know. I was told it was running at 60 fps but it seems to be a bit less. I have only played the beginning but I didn't see any slowdowns whilst playing.

There's an interesting article from Digital Foundry about Shadow of Mordor's texture quality settings and a little of info on the game's overall performance on PC - the full comparison will come later in the week.

Eyes-on with PC Shadow of Mordor's 6GB ultra-HD textures:

It is 60 FPS for me. I'm not running ultra textures though, then again, I can't casue you need 6GB of video memory.

Actually, you can, the 6GB of VRAM requirement is for running the game at 4k@60fps, at 1080p-1440p @ 30-60 fps, you only need 2-4GB of VRAM. The game scales very well.

If you want to know more, just click in the link in my other comment, the first comment by the user "RubberduckzillA" says it all. Also, if you go to sites like Game Debate, you can see a lot of people running the game just fine on minimum and even on lower system requirements:

I feel like this is the first truly next-gen game to released that isn't half-baked and actually has great graphics.

It is not 60 FPS. It is perfect 30 FPS. If go you frame by frame, you can see that every frame is repeated once. No unlocked framerate.
And it does not look truly next-gen to me. Actually, Black Flag looks a lot better in my opinion, as does Battlefield 4. I do not find the environment very impressive. It is a cross-gen title after all.
The cutscenes look great, but they are pre-rendered

Playing on the PC @ 1440p and I agree. It looks okay.

I don't see what the hullabaloo is about this game. I mean looks fine & all, but I have zero interest in it.

From my understanding, and what ive read from reviews, its not necessarily a game meant to bring anything new to the 3rd person open world genre. the reviews and praise are high because what it does, it does well, but you're not missing out on much if you pass this one.

Great game although I wish the final boss battle was better and longer. The combat in this game is very addictive.
