In the days of yore, back in 2006, a valiant knight going by the name of Lord BlimBlim of Xboxyde began an adventurous quest which led the young and nonetheless brave Snoopette he controlled to very dangerous grounds. A quest that had taken our great tyrant in the deep forests of Oblivion, to places where romanticism and animal genocide went hand in hand. Five years later, the task to take you on a new journey is now mine, your humble servant, further north to the realm of Skyrim. Snoopette, now too old to face the dangers lurking in the bushes, has given way to her young and beautiful daughter, Princess Blimounette of Geek Castle, no less.

fucking awesome :D theiving mages rule :D
I am in love with this game, something I didnt expect to with its hit reaction (which I still think its bad), but the overal experience is magnificent.
When I can make my character look like this in a open world fantasy RPG with its visuals and art its something else.
Robin Hood-ish + magic, perfect!
Though I like my character's beard more than Maximus hehe, though the hair is the same, the short black one.
Whats funny is that as soon as I slapped on the imperial armor on my character he looked like a roman soldier lol
I am guessing you are going with mage build?
as for my character, I went with a mix of archer/one-handed weapons/descruction spells/restoration skills. keeps the combat varied switching from swords, to archery, back to sword with spells, and then just all spells. works well for every situation i been in so far, but i guess u can say that about most skills as they all seem to be very well balanced.
There's just so much on offer, and so much of it is done right. I'm an absolute fantasy nut, so Skyrim is gaming heaven for me. The music, the art, the variation in gameplay... it just all comes together in a magnificant package. I'll that some aspects are slightly unpolished, and some animations are a bit clunky and awkward still, but there is just so much there that I can't help but look past the little, insignificant niggles and view the bigger, beautiful picture.
It's also worth noting how diverse the world itself is, not only in terms of visual detail but in tone as well. I've just completed my favourite side quest so far (and discovered something really cool soon after), and the location in which it took place was so eerie and mysterious... really gave me a sense of wonder.
I'd been waiting for this ever since I 'completed' Oblivion pretty much. And truly, honestly, it's been worth the wait. I'm in love.
Looking at the big picture and enjoying it is definitely the way to go, but describing some of the aspects as being only "slightly" unpolished is definitely underplaying how bad some of these things are, objectively speaking.
I dunno, maybe as far as open-world RPGs go, it's on par polish-wise?

I didn't realise we all had to conform to the Church of Grift?
And once you go to High Hrothgar, WOW, now THAT is pure scale in a game, and the blizzard effect is amazing.
@Blmbox
Dont worry about Grift lol.
I agree with you 100% percent. From a fantasy fan to another, this is magnificent for us (and I didnt even like Oblivion). Everything in this game comes out so good, from combat mechanics (combinations...etc.) to the scale, to art and music, just great.
why is everyone so hooked with it
