Something like five years after WarHawk, StarHawk is finally here for those who are longing for some action packed multiplayer fun, but not only them. Indeed, this time around, we even get a full single player mode in the package, and though it is merely a sort of long tutorial to get you ready for online play, it is still a nice addition if you are new to the franchise. Here are a bunch of videos from the single player campaign, as I would certainly not do the game justice if I decided to capture some multiplayer mayhem.
Update : Added two gameplay videos in space.

Edit: the story is utterly lame tho, i dont care much for why i'm doing stuff, but doing the stuff is fun as hell
Here is the most famous scenario everyone does to win a match.
Kill alot, get rift, go close and hide a spawn beacon and then a bubble shield. Deploy tank buildings and start spawning in 5+ tanks and go from afar and start spawn killing.
Hawk, takes armor and cloak, dives in enemy spawn, lands stomps and flies, rinse and repeat.
The MP is basically that after hours of play and i think its extremely unbalanced and BS.
Vehicles are waaaay too overpowered in weapons and how much it takes to destroy them.
Splitscreen multiplayer is bullshit too, it lags to the point its absolutely unplayable. Warhawk on the other hand was smooth to play in splitscreen online.
I was lookin forward to this game but this scenario of a generic battle pisses me off since thats all people have done ever since the game came out.
Only thing I like interms of gameplay is using those jetbikes that hovers and start riding. Reminds me of SW Eps 2 were Anakin goes on a killingspree for his mother.
I doubt I will keep this game since how many matches and 2 days will show me anything else, nothing tbh.
I played a bit of campaign, nothing special. Its basically a "how to play pre-multiplayer" with story attached to it.
And nothing is very tough in the game. You can get a rocket launcher that allows you to deal with vehicles pretty easily on foot. I mean, no shit a vehicle is going to have some advantage against a DUDE ON FOOT but they aren't overpowered at all and not that difficult to take out. Plus, it's a vehicle focused game, so get in a damn vehicle.
First of all, you dont know when I got the game, and how much I played it.
I had it for two days since release day here and been playing more than 10 hours all together.
I still stand by my opinion.
Physics in Space is disgusting!
I got instakilled from nowhere, and everytime I tried to kill some footsoldier with my own tank, it took forever to kill him, which is ridiculous. Characters had way too much health. Some vehicles were pointless, spawnkilling was out of control, Jeep turrets can kill tanks easily, the actual "Hawks" (the stars of the game...) are made of paper-mâché etc.
I doubt they fixed even 50% of the first games balancing problems or general gameplay mechanics. The game was just not fun, only boring.

in terms of what it's the most similar too, that would be warhawk...but then that's expected
Starhawk is a MUST BUY, then. ;)
1.)The art is shit, seriously! Of all the talented artists out there, I don't know who Lightbox hired, but everything from the human/alien designs, to the vehicles and the environment all look like complete shit.
2.) Still no fixed loadouts, collecting weapons over and over after dying gets old. This is an old game mechanic of collecting "cool" weapons from the UT 99 era and doesn't belong in any game today.
3.) Yea the ground combat sucks ass.... infantry combat is horrible and sniping a pain in the ass (but rewarding if you do manage to get a kill)
Honestly, I didn't like Warhawk either, that game was overhyped by PS fans since they had nothing to play during the early days of PS3. The ground combat init was even worse (total auto aim and zero skill)
I hope Sony ditches these guys after this game bomb.
The best thing about Starhawk is the orbital drops....dropping on enemies and killing them is very cool and making a unique base is also cool...but that's not worth $60

Artstyle, well it reminds me of Firefly since it has that sci fi/western vibe going, again, way better than Warhawk AKA Resistance rip off with WW2-sci fi.
Yes, collecting same weapons over and over again is boring, but its what makes it balanced, or else everyone would run out with more than 4 main weapons like snipers, RPGs, AR and more. This way more balanced and besides, its what makes building work as a mechanic.
But the vehicles and walls and bubble needs to either be readjusted or go away. But since vehicles is something for "Hawk-series" they need to gimp them down since they are more overpowered in Starhawk then it was in Warhawk.
I still think this should have been a PSN game like Warhawk....the tacked on single player mode and the bad art style deflated my hype.

Fantastic Halo 4 art.
Mass Effect has the best art i agree, but Killzone is so unique, especially tha great job on the atmosphere and skyboxes, just great.
Halo, well I dont like all Halo types since some of them is too cartoony and too pink/purple-y lol. I like the dark vibe from Halo, and that art image is a fine example. Halo Reach as wel, loved it.
Warhawk was basically Resistance but a bit more sci fi into it and it wasent on earth. I dont hate it, but not something i would prefer.
