Looks quit good, Seems a bit bullet spongy thought!

You's PC gamers moaning about graphics...remember it's a beta....BF3 full game looked much better than BF3 beta

I don't know whether I'm amazed or disappointed that my 360 will run this "beta" better than my PC. It's unprecedented, and it looks better too. You have to really turn everything down on Lowest settings to turn it from an RTS into an FPS.

And this "beta" is releasing 28 days before launch. I think people have a right to be concerned about stuff this huge so close to launch. Usually these betas are stress tests and tweaking feedback.

This the only game that has me wanting a next-gen system. But I must resist.

@Phaethon360:

I wouldn't imagine this is a recent build. These betas usually aren't.

I think people complaining about the beta is just a representation of the problem with gamers today, always firing off at the mouth before things are even out let alone in their final phase.

The BF3 beta looked like a a mid generation Xbox game, but came out looking spectacular when it was released, I remember playing it once and thought the graphics were rubbish and never played it again.

The BF4 beta should be no different, it's likely running very old code just to test their servers as opposed to testing playability and graphical performance (TAKE NOTE R*), so that when it's launched we have a working product (TAKE NOT R*).

Droe I disagree, performance for me has been excellent but I tend to stay on i3D servers or Lyon. I also think it looks way better than BF3, the attention to detail is staggering!!!

problem is, that isn't what happened last time. the beta, again, is too close to release to create any meaningful changes. it's hopefully in a better place then BF3 was given the fact it looks and plays so similarly. but still, i think the negativity and apprehension is entirely justified given the fuck up last time. hell, BF3 released (despite having a "beta") with broken mics, input lag, broken squads, connection issues, graphical bugs and a whole host of other problems. why should we think this time will be any different? fuck that

disclaimer for grift : all comments are in relation to the console version of the game only.

Hence why I said it's more to test their servers.

It sounds to me like you're talking about the PS3 version, when I got the 360 version it worked fine, then again I spent most of my time in party chat with my squad as opposed to being forced to talk in the gaming lobby, hence no mic issues.

My friend bought the PS3 version and what you stated echoes a lot of the problems he was having on release, I even remember joking with him about doubling down and playing the 360 version as the only noticeable problem I was having was the squad being split, which still happens every now and then.

That being said, I haven't even played the BF4 beta, too busy trying to wrestle Rayman Legends and Ascend Hand of Kul.

I got the ps3 version of BF3 on release and I also remember a ton of issues. I really hope it's not even worse for ps4 since it's their first game on the hardware. So far this beta has not impressed me much at all but then again it took me a long time to warm up to bf3 and that game ended up being one of my favs. It really is hard to get much a of true impression from one map on a beta other than this game looking very dated on the 360. I sure hope the ps4 version looks much much better than this.

Hmmm I would love to believe that but hands on impressions I have read suggest otherwise. I don't think next gen systems will be able to pull it off just yet. Next year maybe but I doubt for launch.

Also good god why does dice create such bland interiors for so many of their maps? The lack of detail is so ugly for this series when it comes to a lot of interior environments.

720p60, maybe 900p60 on PS4, with medium-high details, and probably some drpps now and then. A very average PC will achieve this.
Nobody forces you to play on Ultra settings. You will easily get that when new graphics cards come next year.

Of course I would still rather play that with a gamepad.

I think anyone expecting ultra settings on next gen hardware is gonna be very disappointed to say the least. Ign said it looked like medium-high settings. Good looking but not stunning.

wasn't that at gamescom? where there wasn't even any vehicles, and only 16 players...my guess. kinda unfinished. i'm expecting high settings (differences between high and ultra are minimal anyway) 60fps, and hopefully higher then 720p on PS4

Xbox One as well, if we are to believe a dude in his video on Youtube. He says he prefers PS and PC, not a Xbox guy at all. But he played the Xbox One version and says it stacks up damn well against PC version.
